Great stand-up routine from Richt

Totally amazing. Foot in mouth again.

Appears that McGarity chewed around it and let it fall out.

kentdaddy, you were the first one, as I recollect on this board to put up the warning signs.

Guarantee this, MB will not be doing all of the things next year that he has done the past few years.

We all know that Richt has turned the defensive side of the ball over to CTG. Richt can't get after Grantham, might have been fifth choice, but it was "supposedly" Richt's choice.

McGarity and King Adams have to keep Richt one more year, that is if certain players choose UGA. Recruiting goes bad, Richt might be looking for employment or living on his fortune made at UGA.

Said this before, I have seen no difference in the past few years with Bobo calling the plays or the way Richt did once upon a time. Think it was sadlerdawg that said if you have watched one season of UGA offensive football, don't need to look any further. Nothing has changed.

Unbelievable. Just saw this one--

Some wondered if he is contemplating revamping or opening up the offense, perhaps installing more spread option elements to take advantage of quarterback Aaron Murray being a dual threat.

But then Richt noted that when you make a lot of changes, it’s tough on the players. “If you just change for the sake of changing, then all of a sudden you’ve got to relearn something all over again. Do I want to confuse Aaron Murray right now? Heck, no. That guy knows what he’s doing, and he’s going to have a lot more confidence going into next season.”

WHAT???!!!!! "just change for the sake of changing"????? How about change because what you are doing isn't working? The hits just keep on comin'. Man, I'm really looking forward to 2011 UGA football.

sadlerdawg, just read your post. I was flapping my jaws in another thread. Copied it, amazing how close you and I are on this . . . .

Going to give this one more try, know some think I am off my rocker . . . might be.

Richt has a brother-in-law and his nickname is "Bull". There is a reason for the nickname, Johnson is as tough as they come. At my age I could out run Brad in the forty. Close anyway. Here was a quarterback that was "thrown" into the West Coast Offense under Jon Gruden and came away with a Super Bowl win. What worked for BJ was this . . . . he has a brain, and picked Gruden's system like no one had ever done before.

We have the perfect QB in Murray to run the West Coast Offense. Also, it is an offense that might save his life. Standing in the pocket where Richt and Bobo wanted him to stand almost got the kid killed. All of us know this young man has wheels. That is a good thing, along with an above average arm. Brains, for sure.

We have folks that are being under utilized on the offense, such as Charles, King, Wooten, White, Troupe and many more. If we are lucky enough to get the tight end from Valdosta, makes the West Coast even better for UGA.

Don't know if Johnson would come to UGA, just have this gut feeling that he would. Talent like CL coming in, and he also has wheels, would flourish under Brad Johnson, fact. Richt indicates in his press conference that he is going to be more involved in the offense. What does that say to me, says we will run the same offense that we have ran for his entire coaching career at UGA. That is not change. Even Saban at Bama is playing with the pistol and variations of same.

This is another reason that I question Richt or Bobo and what I think is a lack of vision and properly using their talented players to their fullest. Yep, we have talent. If I am game planning for UGA, as I said before, I can use film from many years back. Not much has changed. Much like running the quarter mile at the drag strip, one four barrel is good, but if I am competing against the rocket next to me and he has two four barrels, next time I am at the strip, my machine has been altered, bet on that. UGA does not change, too predictable year in year out. Fact.

My gut feeling is this . . . Richt will remain coach throughout the 2011 season, win, lose or whatever. Do I think that a change should be made now? If Richt is going to run the offense the same way it has been run, yes. Folks can talk about how many points UGA scored this year, look only to the points we scored in South Carolina, good defense, few points. Then look at the points scored in Memphis, average defense, kids playing hard, with heart, no TD's.

Who knows, maybe UGA goes on a tear, wins the NC, SEC Champions several times. 10/11 wins and undefeated seasons in the future. That would shut this old hard ass up. Show me, DON'T TELL ME what you are going to do. Clay told Liston what he was going to do, and did it.

Yeah, Buc, I think we see eye-to-eye on the shortcomings of this offense. I think it's funny that Richt said he'll have more time to study the game and be on the "cutting edge". My @$$. The only "cutting edge" we'll ever see from Richt is if they give him a pair of hedge clippers and tell him to trim the hedges in Sanford.....which IMO, is exactly what he should be doing as opposed to coaching.

Yep....."market bottom" for CMR. In 2005 at his "top of the coaching market", the bullish consensus figures were probably 98% bulls (means everyone loved him but % figures that high indicates the move is "over").

NOW.....he has been blasted so badly that his bullish consensus figures are around 3%.....indicating his market bottom. Only way to go from here is UP.

(btw.....contrary investing is THE single most reliable indicator)

wlayton, I'm not all that familiar with your line of work, but I'll bet that what works in the market doesn't always translate to success on the gridiron!! B)
