From Athens - " Beale Street"

Good Morning All,

I was just thinking, and we know that can be an extremely dangerous practice! We have but one game left. Damn were did the last 13 weeks go to?

For me our win over Tech was a recap of our season’s progress.

Cause turnovers and score points off them. Touchdowns not FG’s

Reduce foolish flags. On both sides of the ball.

Get OC more into the passing game as a big part of the load shifts to him next year.

AM is the future and it is in great hands. He will play on Sunday. A young Peyton with better wheels. Both have the “look” when up at the line, knife in hand ready to cutup some defenses.

It was very fitting that our “D” showed up and played with effort on every down. LB dropping into pass coverage gets a pick to ice the game, sweet!

We won with no major key injuries. We can and will address the other issues that make up the background buzz.

For those who want to beat their head about what went wrong this year, have at it.

Me I will take our problems over those of any other program. I will also take what we have in place to address those problems. Players, recruits, coaches and a new AD. Plus the Bulldog Nations without question the best fans in college football.

We have a new strength coach so that is the first ripple on the pond. It will be interesting to see what follows. I think there we be more changes to come.

On Feb 2nd I feel we will see some favorable surprises that sign with the Dawgs. Playing for a successful NFL coach will lure some quality kids who want to get to the next level.

For those who think CTG is not our guy then maybe KS isn’t either. CTG will find and get his players and we will see continued improvement.

Did the Tide look the same without Mt. Cody? Why was KS unable to coach up his defense to last years level? He didn’t have the same talent and size players.Surprise, no just reality.

Buc, Thanks for asking about “Georgia” I have had to check her into the Betty Ford Clinic for dog biscuit abuse. During the Tech game I just set an open box of Milkbones on the floor and let her self serve. It was pure heaven to watch “Old Sour Puss Johnson” go down. He was smart enough not to challenge any Dawgs fans this year. Now he is 1-2 against the Dawgs, love it!

I skipped the Bloody Mary Brunch as the brews and steak did just fine. Dog and master slept in Sunday morning to recover.

No it’s not a BCS bowl but Beale Street - on New Years Eve, after a Dawg bowl win…. Mercy! Pass me some of that slow cooked Memphis Barbeque.

Have a great weekend and a safe week. “ Go Dawgs”

Go Dawgs!

Interesting post as always yankeedawg1. Some good points included in your summation of the Dawgs at a glance.

Called for the wife to pick me up from the floor. Still laughing about the "Betty Ford Clinic".

Think that this board will be buzzing today, always like to see the pros and cons of others here. Other boards could learn a lot about "mature disagreements and agreements" on this site.

Actually got to 40 degrees last night, enjoyed it, think we will have several days like this all week.

Thanks again for the "Friday Athens Update", as most say . . . "look forward to your thoughts".

:) :)

Thanks as ALWAYS yd1

Hey Buc - got any peanuts left - high in the 40's up here - was 24 on the porch this morning

Yeah - still laughing about the BF clinic also

Yeah - where did the year go to - already getting depressed realizing that the season is almost over

AM - agree he's the man - was watching the replay (not as stressed) and noticed on that long run by WE - that was AM flying down the field to block for him - he's one hell of a player - if we could just figure out how to get the rest of the team to play like he does - good grief we'd be mighty good

Hoping the new S&C changes will result in more endurance - think that's why we tend to take the foot off the pedal - because the team runs out of gas - except for AM and a few others

Great post yd1 - get Georgia out of the clinic and have her in shape for the bowl game - might need to get the extra large box of treats - looking foward to AM/AJ/&Co setting some bowl game records

BEALE STREET get ready - here come the DAWGS

GO DAWGS

RabunDog, still have some "Georgia Sweets" stashed in the freezer. Started a couple of times to ask you the same question.

There are also some good athletes in Central Florida that I hope take a good strong look at UGA. Does not hurt our cause with AM playing the way he is. Get these young puppys in shape for next season, could be a team to watch.

Looks like it will be UCF that we face in Tennessee. My daughter is a graduate of Central Florida. Good school, recently built their football stadium on campus, seats over 50k. Means a lot to the recruits to have a facility on grounds.

When other teams players start making remarks about our conditioning and they want it to hit the print page, should stir the powers that run our program to . . . . wake up. RabunDog, seems like ADMG is not going to let the football program coast any longer. Do believe that we went to sleep at the wheel. 2011 and 2012 are going to be huge years for our program and those that run it.

YD1, check out "Jim Neeley's BBQ" in Memphis. The best pulled pork sandwhich ever. The ribs are OK. The beans are awesome. Born an hour north of Memphis and family still lives there. Not New orleans, and pretty rough areas, but not a bad place to eat!!!!!
