Wide receivers, anyone?

Wide receivers, anyone? was created by UGAChemDawg
One thing that should be a high priority of Georgia's on the recruiting path that isn't (or at least isn't talked about much) is the recruitment of quality wide receivers. It should be self-evident that Aaron Murray needs targets, and the more the merrier. I'm terrified to find out just how much of Aaron Murray's greatness shining through this season was simply due to the fact that he had #8 to throw to. We need a balanced set of targets including two great wide outs and I'd also like to see tight ends get more involved in catching passes as well. Spread the field around. Let's go out and get some non-butterfinger boys with leather-magnets for hands.

Tell you what pal, you go do these things. You seem to have all of the answers concerning UGA football, like no other that I have ever witnessed on this board or others. Seems also that you are back into the mode of starting threads, you might want to contribute more in threads that cover most areas of UGA football.

Agree. I find it frustrating that with AJ, Murray, Stafford, etc, that we don't get more WR's. We lost a couple in recruiting last year. This year, I don't see a knock out class lining up to come here.

Why?

We might need a new WR coach - sometimes just haveing a great QB does not mean that you will automatically get great WR's to come also - tenn is still considered WR U in the SEC

Just frustrating looking at the reputation Richt has as an OC, the QB's we have had, and the pro style offense, and we sign one WR last year......we hsould be able to sign three guys a year that are 4 stars, every couple years throw in a 5 star, with the talent in this state.

Agree Shannon - heard a little noise that there MIGHT be a change in that area - I know it's hard to get all the best possible coaches - but it would be nice to get a WR coach that might help attract more top notch WR's to go with our top notch QB's - IF that does happen - would not expect any news till after the bowls - would make a nice late christmas present

Would be good to get at least 2-3 good ones each year - slthough we have gotten some highly rated WR's - most have not lived up to there hype - realize that happens in all positions - won't get an AJ but once in awhile

Would think that if ADMG sees this as an opportunity to obtain an improvement in this area - would think that he would act on it
