Totally understand where you are coming from yankeedawg. I live in Knoxville. Got reminded what happened last year as I walked in to the office this morning.
As for the game, I believe it will probably be a close one. Kind of sad really. Lot of talent on this UGA team, I think? Simms is tough. Seems to never lose his head due to the punishment he takes. They got their best receiver back last week against LSU, and have some young guys that could make a difference at WR. One was supposed to be wearing the G on his helmet. RB is a hard runner, and supposedly he is bitter because he is a Georgia kid who was not offered by UGA.
Players and coaches feel like the fan base is not totally behind them. Here is how they change it. Play the game with great hustle, passion, and discipline. Players feel fans are backing them because wins or losses. I really don't think that is the main reason though. I think the sluggish and passive football they have been playing is the reason fans are frustrated. At times, it looks like effort maybe be there, but the heart is not, if that makes sense.
Enough with that. I am not going to make a prediction because it hasn't ended the way I would like so far this year.
Here are my advantages:
QB- UGA Simms is a tough kid, but AM is one of kind. Incredible player and he is only a frosh
RB- Draw - UGA has more depth and talent, but UT's backs have held onto the football.
WR- UGA. AJ Green. enough said.
OL- Draw. UGA is supposed to be better, but I haven't seen it this year. UT is young. Both QB's have been hit too many times.
DL- UT. Product of elimination. UGA DL has been a non factor this year. Walker kid from UT is a nice player.
LB- UT. UGA has a lot more talent. UT has more discipline and LB's make a lot more plays.
DB- Draw- Same explanation as the LB's
ST- UGA- Butler, Walsh, and Boykin. ALl very good.
Shouldn't be a close game, but I am just about going to guarantee it will be.
