Let's not kid ourselves, it will take 20 years to catch USC in the wins column.
They're 19 ahead of us after probabtion, and for all their faults, they'll probably still be a consistent 8-9 and sometimes 10 win program over these next few years. The real catching will happen in the post season, where they will be bowl inelligible and we have possibly the SEC championship game to look forward to plus the bowl game. So if we can make 2 runs at the east title in the next 5 years, that's 2 games they won't have that we will.
So, say over the next 5 years we average a gain of one win a year on them during the regular season. Then we win an SEC championship game and a BCS bowl game that year, and manage to go 4-1 in bowls over that period and they go 2-1. That could give us 8 games on them in 5 years at a time when the power disparity is very shifted in our favor, which still leaves them 11 games up on us. By that time they'll be good again. I really don't see it happening any sooner than a quarter century or so from now.
