Gentlemen,

Here are the current ranking for all time wins for the top 13 teams.

Michigan
877
Texas
845
Notre Dame
837
Nebraska
827
Ohio State
819
Penn State
811
Oklahoma
799
Alabama
792
Tennessee
783
Southern Cal
775
Georgia
731
Louisiana State--709
Auburn
689

You will notice we are only 44 games behind USC for 10th spot. BUT WAIT! USC is going to have to vacate 25 wins from 2004 and 2005 so in reality we will only be 19 games back with USC heading into probation and us heading into another good ten years.

I say we focus gentlemen and make hay while we can. And with a little luck and some continued suckage in Knoxville we can catch UT as well.

It should be noted Alabamas win total was more impressive before they too vacated some wins for being cheater, cheater pumpkin eaters.

Yo kd

Agree let's make a move to #9 - thinks it's doable the next few years with usc and ut situations

IF creampuffs were deleted - nd would not be on this list

Let's not kid ourselves, it will take 20 years to catch USC in the wins column.

They're 19 ahead of us after probabtion, and for all their faults, they'll probably still be a consistent 8-9 and sometimes 10 win program over these next few years. The real catching will happen in the post season, where they will be bowl inelligible and we have possibly the SEC championship game to look forward to plus the bowl game. So if we can make 2 runs at the east title in the next 5 years, that's 2 games they won't have that we will.

So, say over the next 5 years we average a gain of one win a year on them during the regular season. Then we win an SEC championship game and a BCS bowl game that year, and manage to go 4-1 in bowls over that period and they go 2-1. That could give us 8 games on them in 5 years at a time when the power disparity is very shifted in our favor, which still leaves them 11 games up on us. By that time they'll be good again. I really don't see it happening any sooner than a quarter century or so from now.

Sound reasoning, wlayton. I'd rather that be the goal than moving up the all time wins list, personally.
