So what do u guys think about next season? I think we have a shot at the title.

Stafford will be way more mature as a sophmore than he was this year, sean bailey will be back from his injury before the season at WR, Massaquio will be even better as a junior. Lumpkin and Brown (given that lumpkin stays, and brown is healthy enough to play next year) and Morenzo or w/e the guys name is that redshirted this year, and brannon southerland, our running game will be amazing. linebackers will be faster, but lack experience. 2 five star commits, wow! hope they step up. our secondary with evans, byrd, oliver, knox, johnson, our secondary will be incredible. and D-line is looking good with some good commits in the past. just worried about the OL. wat do u guys think?

I'm not worried about the O-Line with these JuCo commits we've gotten. I'll miss Nick Jones even more than we missed Max Jean-Gilles this year, but we'll get by. The biggest adjustment will be at center.

I seriously think CMR will get his ring(you know, the one he hasn't gotten yet, the big one) next year or the year after. The talent we've got is going to be phenomenal, and we've just never had a quarterback like Stafford, at least not since Eric Zeier, who unfortunately was coached by Ray Goof.

For all this talk about Stafford being Greene 2.0, no one's been talking about his ability to run the ball. He looks like an old-school veer QB, like if you had given Goff an arm and a brain like Eric Zeier's.

Life is going to be good in Athens the next couple of years. Don't forget: 1979 was Vince Dooley's worst year as a coach, his only losing campaign. What happened the next year?

PS for those of you who don't believe in patterns, check this out, what I've been pointing out since the Auburn game:

1973 was the last time we lost to Vandy and Kentucky in the same year. That year we beat a ranked Auburn team, beat Tech, and as an unranked team went to the Peach Bowl(!) and beat a ranked ACC team in Maryland, coming from behind to win 18-17. Sound familiar?

but I tend to believe that next year will be very similar to this year, with the noted exception that we won't drop games that we simply should not! I'm thinking somewhere in the 10-2, perhaps 11-1 catagory, which, and this might sound a bit arrogant, should be a typical season for CMR!

We will be very, VERY young in several critical areas. I believe we will see a vastly improved OL, giving MS ample time to hone his passing attack, which will be greatly improved with the return of Bailey. I expect Brown to take a medical redshirt, leaving Lumpkin, Moreno and Southerland in the backfield....Not a bad trio! I'm not in the least bit surprised at the departure of Danny Ware. He's a DGD but simply hasn't found his groove in CMR's gameplan...Trust me,....he will be drafted probably in the 3rd round and we will see him play on Sunday!

Our D has been and will continue to be the very foundation that puts "W's" on the board! We will miss CJ, but CMR will fill that slot with another rabid DE!!! I don't expect Oliver to make the jump. He had a great season, particularly at the end, but still needs more time. One more year under CMR will make him a valuable commodity...Plus we will benefit from his maturation!! For all his pomp and attitude, I will truly miss Tra Battle!

It's wayyyyyyy to early to speculate, but if I'm asked, I believe that we will drop one early in the season...probably to USC ( they are due) and if we are able to get a grip and refocus, we should/could run the table from there. UT will be tough, but they spanked us last year and that should be incentive enough to return the favor. UF better get it this year, they will be gutted by the draft and graduation...Tebow better get used to the taste of sod!!! I will step out on a limb and predict that the Dawgs will begin to reverse the Jax curse next season with the complete dessection of UF!

I've no crystal ball, so it could be better than, or worse than I suspect. Nonetheless, we should have a shot at the SECE and the SECC, play in a great BCS bowl, but believe that we will fall just short of the big game....UNTIL 2008....That will be the year of the DAWG!!!!

I basically agree with NC_Dawg. Good goal would be to win the SEC next year and THEN win it all in '08 !! I stated in another post that our starting trio of LB's next year will be the best (and fastest) trio EVER at UGA but they will be very inexperienced (and could give up some big plays early in the season). The OL will be helped tremendously by the JUCO's coming in but won't be great, the D will be very good, especially if Oliver stays and the 2 redshirt 5 star studs at safety develope. Brown may redshirt like NC_Dawg stated and Bailey is still a question mark because it usually takes 1 1/2 years to get FULLY back after that type of injury (i.e. Lumpkin took more than 1 year to get all the way back), plus we still need more receivers to step up. Bottom line to me is: '07 SEC Champs, '08 loaded and a NC.
