Apologies to GatorInGA, but listen:

Florida has to beat OSU badly, in my book, to avoid splitting an NC with Boise State. Did anyone watch the Fiesta Bowl last night? It wasn't all hook-and-ladder plays; Boise State was crushing the Sooners 21-10 at the half. I know we stomped them last year, but this year they beat an Oregon State team who looked pretty good all year and who beat USC, and they just beat a perennial power in a game they had no business winning. This wasn't 22nd-ranked Pitt against Urban Meyer's Utah team in 2004. This was an Oklahoma team that got jobbed out of the NC game by Pac-10 officials against Oregon. This was the Big XII champ, for god's sakes.

If the Buckeyes win, they're the champs, period. But if Florida wins by a point or a field goal, who in the world can tell me that the Broncos don't deserve a share? Undefeated, untied; don't forget that's the reason BYU won it all, nor that it's -- fair or not -- the reason WE won the title in '80.

Congrats to the city of Boise.

No problem.
The game last night was incredible! My mouth was hanging wide open at Boise State’s performance in the last drive and in OT.
The hook and ladder play and the fake pass when going for 2 in OT were executed to perfection. Instant classic for sure!!
I will not argue about their stake to a National Title but I still think the rankings should be based upon who you beat NOT who you loose to (i.e. Florida’s 1 loss is irrelevant but who they beat IS relevant). That being the formula, No way is Boise State ranked in the top 3 having only beaten one ranked (lower ranked) team all year and having to do it in OT by 1 point). A team that beat 4 opponents ranked in the top 12 INCLUDING the No. 1 team is a lock!!!!!!!
Of course, I am preparing myself for a Gator loss so please don’t get me thinking about this stuff.

gator, dont prepare yourself for a loss. i believe that FL can pull a W out of glendale. Look what boise did, everyone was saying that they had no chance in this game and looked what happened last night. Fl can do the same thing, all they have to do is control smith. the people on espn gave a 12-pt win over UGA for the chik-fil-a bowl and we stomped them (overall score). Its been said in our forum and i also believe it. the gators will prevail, and it's chris' year to shine.

GatorInGa, you also have to look at where those teams end up. USC got a definite bump from how well Arkansas did down the stretch. Oregon State finished the season ranked, and Boise State beat them. Oklahoma was only ranked lower than BSU because they had two losses(how in the WORLD did LSU get ranked so high? no disrespect, but come on. Florida EMBARRASSED them), one of which was the stolen Oregon game.

Boise State also beat a very good(11-win) and ranked Hawai'i team that would have won the WAC had they beaten BSU. Fresno State had a down year, but it's still a rivalry game. Want bowl teams? Boise State beat Oregon State(bowl winners), San Jose State(bowl winners), Hawai'i(bowl winners) and Nevada, who took Miami down to the final seconds in a 21-20 loss. Want boundaries overcome? How about a first-year coach and injuries, including one that took Ian Johnson out of the final few games?

This is not to mention the fact that they beat 7th-ranked Big XII Champions Oklahoma(!) in a BCS bowl on national television. Come on. BYU won the Holiday Bowl in DECEMBER and won the National Championship. This is a 1/1 bowl here, the Fiesta Bowl, over a 7-time champion.

I'm not disparaging Florida or the SEC. I'm just saying that regardless of your conference, it's difficult to go undefeated. In 2004 Boise made it through undefeated...and lost in the Liberty Bowl to a Louisville team that ALSO could have gone undefeated but for a last-second loss to Miami.

Mainly, I just hate the BCS. I hate Florida, and don't want them to win, but neither do I want violation-plagued (and strangely uninvestigated and unpunished) Ohio State to win after their easy romp through the weak Big X. So here's what I want. I want Florida to win by one point if AND ONLY IF it means that the AP votes for Boise State as its national champion. Then and only then, will you truly be the one. Or something like that. But the BCS will be completely screwed at that point.

Not trying to agree or disagree with all this NC talk, but is it just me or does anyone else out there think that OU just isn't that good? They haven't been very good to me in the last few years but have gotten thru on reputation and a weak overall conference. I thought they looked awful last night and was very lucky to almost win the game. That was the same BSU team that we KILLED last year and we showed the D-1 world that they weren't ready for the big boys. Same team---OU is and has been overated in my opinion, thought they looked average at best.
