DAWGS RIP PLAY FROM "BEAMERBALL BOOK"

17 years 10 months ago #2897 by Elvisdawg
It usually doesnt get much better than "Beamerball" (check the statistics) but our DAWGS ripped the pages out of his book and used it againist him in a game of football. Defense and the kicking game, wow !!! Can you believe the PERFECT execution of that ONSIDE KICK , i have NEVER seen it done so well with the return team having virtually no chance of recovering the ball. Great work, great coaching !!! Sure, they did have that one excellent return , but overall our special team outplayed Beamers and our defense turned their offense into shambles, especially the last series of the game and almost the entire second half. Our offense turned their defense into "Beam me up Scottie" ball in the second half . (Sorry for the science fiction reference but they are Tech and Beamer their coach, couldnt resist !) All i heard on ESPN before the game was 'Beamerball' this and 'Beamerball' that well there is a new DAWG in the fight DAWGBALL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They definitely had a major case of "JUNKYARD DAWG " going on !!! Go Dawgs !!!!!!!!!!!!

There is no greater stadium than Sanford, no greater running back than Walker and nothing greater in all of football than being a Georgia Bulldog !

Yeah Elvisdawg, let's all REALLY bring back the "Junkyard Dawg" label for our great D. Hasn't really been emphasized since the 80's.

The only thing that upset me about the onside kick was that now, whenever we bring Mimbs in, they'll know what's up.

HOW BOUT THEM JUNKYARD DAWGS!!!

If we ain't ranked in a couple weeks, it's time to get out the torches and storm the battlements, soldiers!

yeah, I couldn't believe that VT didn't think something was up when we changed our kicker on that kick-off. Man, did they blow that one.

Well, wlayton, that was what broke the game open. You take away that onside kick and I can easily see the game ending 24-6 VaTech. So many games hinge on one play. Take the 2003 Tennessee game. You tell me we would have even won that game had Sean Jones not run that ball back.

Since then, I've still never seen 108,000 people shut up, all at the same time. Gorgeous.

I totally agreed with you dapolla, just couldn't believe VT didn't see that we changed kickers, especially since they are known for their expertise in special teams play.
