TEX/OKLA to SEC-mercy

RabunDog, guess the word is out today concerning Nebraska. Big 10. Supposed to be a news conference or press release by the AD on shifting seats.

Personally, this is one place where I agree with Slive. Hope that the SEC stands pat. FSU was offered a spot prior to them joining the ACC. A&M being mentioned heavily . . . think it is a good time to step back and take a deep breath. GT once was in the SEC and had an offer to return.

Sooner or later this is going to effect the NCAA. Might be a while, but it appears to be heading in that direction. Some of you younger Dawgs will probably see the day when college football players will be compensated. I totally believe that.

Yo Buc - it's all about the money -

Colorado started the dominoes this morning - they accepted invite to pac10 - the pac10 really wants to move to 16 teams - by colorado already in the pac10 that leaves out baylor in the mix of texas/okla schools that might go to pac10 also - threw in a monkey wrench

Neb is expected to announce friday that they are moving to the big 10 - that gives them the 12 they need - it MIGHT stop there - but i doubt it - ND considered the big10 as being the 12th member and stopping it at that - well that's down the drain if NEB does indeed become the 12th member - the big10 had been interested in mizzo also but understand that has turned cold now - they will go for 16 if the pac10 does - that means they will raid the big east - may force ND into the big10

SEC had been courting TxA&M for several months - the heat is on now - supposidly SEC folks met with TXA&M folks today to nail down details - also looking at TCU - heard they have all but wrapped up a deal with VaTech and are looking at a NC school - so we might end up with 2 tex adds to the west and VT and a NC school for the east - the SEC must get at least 1 tx school for the economics to work out for the current members - VT and/or a NC school would give us a good size new tv market but 1 or 2 tx achools would give us a lot more tv market

Looks like it's headed toward 4 16 team conferences - they beginning of a playoff - these 8 division winners would first face off in conference championship games - then the 8 would be paired up in 4 BCS games with #1 of one confernce playing #2 of another conference - then those 4 winners would face off in round 2 and then those 2 winners would face off in the BCS NC game - you could have that game being between 2 schools from the same conference

Here are two nuggets I heard over on another forum.

High level sources in multiple conferences have told KCTV5 that Texas and Texas A&M are looking to move to the Big Ten Conference and have petitioned for membership, while the University of Oklahoma is planning on petitioning the Southeastern Conference to become a member of its conference.

College Station, Texas, based sources close to Texas A&M confirm the scenario of Texas A&M, Texas and Nebraska joining the Big 10, bringing the total to 14. … Sources also confirmed the rift with Texas Tech and Baylor is that “UT and A&M have joined together in this decision”. By adding this trio, UT does not “go to war alone in a new conference” when ongoing issues arise.

To be honest. I don't care who goes where. I just want Sept. to get here. If all of these changes force a play off. Do it.

I don't care who goes where either as long as it gets us to a playoff system.

Money is the reason all this started but rumor is that if it does lead to 4 or 5 super conferences with 16 teams or more that they will be the the ones that will provide a BCS playoff scenario of some kind
