Very sad. I weep for the future of the state of Florida.

sadlerdawg, nice piece or work by Harvick in Talladega.
High school football, one thing, college football another. Pro football brings the best of the best from all in college.
QB from UF under UM = pick 25 or so. QB from UGA last year = 1.
Have this to say . . . UM had a QB go to the NFL #1 (San Francisco) and that question is not answered many years later.
You want to play in the LEAGUE, might want to look past UM. Guarantee this . . . a pro QB will not be tutored by UM. Lost his QB man to Mississippi State. Has a potential QB for the LEAGUE, but it will not be because UM taught him the position. Reason he will continue to get his butt kicked in the playoff games . . . . the SEC has caught up to UM.
Young folks have figured out the process. Once upon a time, you played for the in-state team and everyone was happy. That is not the case anymore. The players with above average talent are looking at the next step. Does not matter whether it is in-state or out. The money is huge and you go to the school that can help you move up to the next level.
Saban not only understands college coaching, he understands what it takes to move to the next step. You will see UA back year after year either winning or contending for the SEC Championship.
UGA has been short on the coaching side of the equation for several years. That is a fact.
For the many years that I have watched and supported the Bulldogs, never have I seen a more positive move than we made this year in our coaching hires.
If, if, anyone has a problem with that last statement . . . . review the number of class athletes than have honored the campus in Athens. We damn near go to the number 100 before we have our first player chosen. Yes I understand last year we had #1 and #10 or so. Here is the problem . . . check the overall numbers of players that leave Alabama and go to the LEAGUE.
Wonder why we had five losses last year, not speaking to you, speaking to myself. I understand, the leader let the game escape the University of Georgia. It was building over the years, we kind of hoped that what we were watching was not the true picture. IT WAS. CMR should never ever let anything get in his way/sight as to what UGA could and should not do.
This is not original, but I hope in the future of UGA Football it goes something like this . . .
Coach Richt controls the offense.
Coach Grantham controls the defense.
That includes recruiting and everything that has to do with both sides of the ball.
Tired of Tim Tebow and all of the hype that he gets. Let us see what he does in the LEAGUE compared to Stafford. One thing to be surrounded by talent, another to play the game with lesser or talent that is not coached up.
kentdaddy is totally right. Tebow was coached in a system that made his coach secure, millions of dollars in his pocket. The spread will not put millions in TT's pocket.
Best way to judge the overall . . . . watch the next couple of years in the East. The West is now under control of Saban. Don't think so . . . . they had 91,000 supporters for the Spring Football Game.
