Peacemaker

Getting quiet here. Will try to show my feelings about some of the folks on this UGA team.

--Dontavius Jackson might be buried on the depth chart behind Ealey, Caleb King and Carlton Thomas, but the redshirt sophomore ran hard Saturday, rushing for 43 yards on 11 carries. Jackson missed much of the spring with a high ankle sprain, but made news when he confirmed that he was the player that police called a “peacemaker” in the alleged assault of a married couple in the taxi cab incident.Carries at running back figure to be scarce after Ealey and King.

“If not there, there’s special teams,” Jackson said. “You’re always (looking) to help out the team in any kind of way. That’s my main goal.”

I won't forget that Dontavius Jackson was rated ****'s. He has had some problems health wise, but mentally to me, he is a giant. Think that we are going to see more of this young man than some expect. Damn sure has talent . . . . above that . . . character.

Guess I am a thing of the past averagedawg . . . . you and me Brother. There are some really good young men on this team, feel that they are going to show their \"butts\" . . . meaning that we finally have a group coming out of the \"BS\" that was pulling our Dawgs downhill.

When we have a \"head coach\" that speaks openly about his \"new\" defensive coordinator showing spirit on the sideline, referring to the same guy that says to the press that he hopes the UGA fans make the stadium shake making so much noise, means so much, I am on board with that Coach Grantham, Coach Richt.

To heck with the \"Senior Leadership\" if it is not there. Last couple of years, did not see any leadership on either side of the ball. Lots of talk, record did not show that leadership was there from players or coaches, top to bottom.

Defensive Coordinator released, not one top ten or maybe top twenty player from UGA being drafted this year. What is wrong with this picture? I know damn well the talent is on campus . . . and has been for the last four or five years.

Stick our chest out because we had the number 1 draft choice, guess we can be proud of that. Bothers me that a QB from UF will probably go in the bottom of the first or who knows wherever in the upcoming draft. Why are they kicking our butts? What has been going on? Something has/is missing from our football program.

I hope that the defensive side of the ball is back and ready to take names and kick butt. No excuses. Coach Grantham, Belin, Lakatos, new folks, sure hope that you can change the attitude that has slipped away from a once proud program.
