wlayton... you are correct sir. Herschel waited till Easter Sunday 1980 to sign.. I remember my mom saying we finally got him.. I also remember her saying she will be in Knoxville when we play Tenn to open the season. She did not come home disappointed... She and my dad talked about that game and how good #34 ran over Bill Bates for his first score... The picture of that run is hanging on my wall with herschel's autograph.... hope everyone enjoyed their Easter Sunday.. can't wait till Saturday and see the D and our new feature leader behind center..
