Awesome! 17-Year-Old Chicago Area Teen, Who Is Autistic, Has Picked All the Winners so Far in March Madness Basketball; Odds are 13 Million-to-One
Alex Herrmann, a 17-year-old who lives outside of Chicago, claims to have picked all 48 games played thus far in the NCAA Basketball Tourney correctly, according to nbcchicago.com.
Says the story, Bookofodds.com says the odds of picking the winner in all 48 games that have been played is 13,460,000-to-one. And given the upsets we've had this year, one would think it would be even more difficult.
Furthermore, nbcchicago says it contacted ESPN, and of the 4.78 million bracket cards that have been registered to ESPN's site, the best anyone has done is picked 44 games correctly.
Herrmann entered his bracket at CBSsports.com, which actually doesn't track how its entrants perform, the story says. The part of the site that he entered his bracket in isn't locked down after the tourney begins, but members of Herrmann's family, including his brother who also entered a bracket and is not doing well, claim no one has altered Alex's picks after the tournament began.
Alex's final four consists of Tennessee, Kentucky, Kansas St. and Purdue. His championship game is Kansas St. vs. Purdue, with the school of which his brother is an alumnus, Purdue taking it all.
