Looking Back and Forward

Reading through many sites and newspapers, I think that I have come to this conclusion.

While there was disappointment by many about our recruiting year, it is beginning to make a lot of sense to me. Also understand that a bird in hand is worth two in the bush.

Next years class is loaded. Might be the strongest list of players I have seen in many years. Players that fit our team from top to bottom. Whether discussing offensive or defensive side. With some open slots, to me it plays out like Pro Football. You have the 1st, 2nd or 3rd pick, however you trade down in a very talented field to pick up draft choices. Could be the patience of Coach Richt paid off in more ways than one.

There can be no denying that Coach Grantham, Belin, and Lakatos have caught not only our eyes on this board, it has caught on throughout the State of Georgia and in the surrounding states. Coach Grantham said upon arriving in Athens . . . . 5 hours in any direction and UGA will have all the components needed to vie for larger trophies.

I have read where several highly rated players have mentioned the 3/4 defense. Last year and the year before, there was practically no mention or deafening noise such as is going on with players contemplating playing in a 3/4 and playing defense for a proven NFL coach. Tall DB's with speed, linebackers with size and speed, DLinemen with size and speed. What is that saying used by law enforcement . . . . Speed Kills. Don't want to kill anyone, just want the see the fear in their eyes.

After reading Coach Bobo's interview with the media, have some concerns . . . still. Not going to press the issue, really hope that we see some changes from the last couple of years. Appears that CMR is going to be more involved with offense, so that alerts me to the fact that he is not totally satisfied with that side of the ball and the decision making. Of course that falls on Coach Richt, he is the head coach.

Come on folks, know that there are a lot of opinions out there. Exercise your right to Free Speech . . . .

Coach wlayton promoted me this weekend from a 3 wlayton to a 5 wlayton, not going to be bashful, going to accept the honor, only took this old fart 70 years to get it.

You da man Buc. Did you just have a birthday?

Totally agree about the upcoming recruiting season. It has been my understanding that the 2011 class BY FAR exceeds this past 2010 class and that the talent comparison is not even close. Haven't fretted too much about this class we just signed....the talent is ALREADY in Athens but we definitely need to focus on DOMINATING the 2011 class. Maybe that's CMR's plan, as you said.

Kind of like Federer coasting along on the regular tournaments but when the Majors come up, you really buckle down and focus because you are now looking at the \"cream of the crop\". Win the big battles (of recruiting in this case) and you eventually end up ON TOP!!!!!!!!

WL & Buc good posts. As it has been pointed out having CTG and crew has brought the level of the SEC even higher. I glad he is going practice his trade here and not eleswhere. We put up a good season and the line will form to come play here in Athens. Success breeds success. Go Dawgs

Go Dawgs!

wlayton, actually 69 and on the downside of that number. Close enough to 70 to call it that way.

Don't know if you guys have seen this . . . .

They told me I could play as many as three different spots for them, Tuitt said. I spoke with Coach Garner and the other defensive coaches one-on-one. They said I could play will linebacker, mike linebacker or defensive end for them.

Tuitt of Monroe has the type of body that Coach Grantham wants. (6'5 - 265)

Tuitt may have gotten the soft sell from Richt and Grantham about coming to Georgia, but he got the hard sell from a current Georgia commit.

Amarlo Herrera (North Clayton commit) kept telling me that I needed to commit to come play at Georgia, Tuitt said. He kept telling me that he wanted me to come play with him and everyone else.

Read some other articles, and it appears that Coach Grantham really wants Tuitt.

Hey Buc, I guess IMO I would really like to see us run the ball more this coming season, I know thats no surprise LOL. But I truly feel if we can get yards on the ground on 1st downs that it will take some heat off of AM and open up the off, I really felt like last season we threw way too much on 1st downs and that always put us in the hole with 2nd an 10. Looking forward though to see what changes are made. GO DAWGSSSSS!!!!

OSD, think the way we ended up playing last year, shows us that we can move the ball on the ground. Certainly agree with you.

Where have you been . . . . haven't seen any posts lately, hope all is good with you and your clan. . .
