Athens — Brandon Coutu will handle all field goals and extra points in the Dec. 30 Chick-fil-A Bowl, Georgia coach Mark Richt said Wednesday.
Coutu, who has only missed one field goal this season, has been out since October with a torn hamstring. He suffered the injury practicing an onside kick prior to the Tennessee game.
Without Coutu, Georgia missed three field goals and an extra point in games against Vanderbilt and Kentucky. The Bulldogs lost both games by a combined six points.
Richt is not sure of Coutu's range. Previously, the junior hit from 58 yards and set the school record for the longest field goal without a tee.
Coutu has been making field goals from 48 yards in practice with room to spare.
