I have loved reading the post on this site for well over a year. And have finally joined. I look forward to having several good conversations with the people on here. And bye the way GO DAWGS!! WOOF! WOOF!

hedge hunter, welcome. Think maybe you will find this site a bit different than some. You have been perusing this site for a while (over a year) it is pretty clear to all of us that this is not a \"throw it against the wall\" site and see if it \"sticks\". Not a lot of \"trash talking\" here, matter of fact . . . . . none. Good, honest opinions about the Dawgs. By the way . . . I am the long winded one.(As if you did not know that already ) Retired and enjoying being with a group that keeps us \"old folks\" young . . . . hedge hunter, welcome. . . . Go Dawgs!

Welcome HH. While Buc is the long winded one (and the one to keep us calm), I am the \"emotional one\" who will get so passionate I may something I realize a day later was stupid!

Buc is a very wise man.....listen to EVERY word.

wlayton, thanks again for the kind words. I suppose that all of us have a \"style\" on this board. I can't for the life of me think of a single person on this board that has not contributed, contributed in a positive way. We can be mad as heck at the way a game is played or a coach/player has let us down, but the beauty of this is that this board gets \"over it\" and moves forward.

A good example of that is the hiring of Coach Grantham. Think I can safely say this . . . we were all/most mad and disheartened with his predecessor. This board was in limbo for a period of time anticipating the arrival of a new coordinator. There were many that wanted this coach or that coach, however in the end, in my opinion, ended up with Coach Grantham and he has caused much the same feelings in the Dawg Nation as the hiring of Coach Richt did. This hire brought me back to the realization that the hiring of Coach Richt was an outstanding hire by those in charge.

A point to be remembered . . . wlayton is the \"dude\" that called the Coach Grantham hiring. He is incredibly close to the UGA system, knows much and . . . shares it.

Coach Richt came to UGA with credentials.
Coach Grantham came to UGA with credentials.

I will not quote the above two word for word, but it goes something like this . . .
We have enough quality athletes in a five hour radius of Athens to put UGA in the running year after year to do the same thing that happened in Tuscaloosa this past season.
