Yes, We need one!!! UGA has plenty of $$$$ The AD needs to start being Pro Active and finally Providing us with one!!! Hope he will do his homework and find a great fit for our Dawgs. Adding another good piece to this staff will definately give the other coaches more time to Focus on the other things they need to, So IMO it somthing that should have already done Awhile ago. Go DAWGS!!

Who has the most influence on the players as far as on the field preparedness? I think their position coach, the OC or DC(depending on which side of the ball they are on), then coach Richt.
If there were a Special Teams Coordinator, then he would be down on the food chain.
My idea is that Coach Richt take over coaching the special teams. All of the players are going to listen to what he says and execute the plan and practice the plan.

Just look at what Frank Beamer has done with his special teams. Coach Richt needs to take that on and get it done.

No Special teams Coor. In three of the four areas of ST, we were very good. I don't want to spend money for someone to improve maybe 3 plays per game.

An OLB coach would help mplayers who play in 50% of snaps. ST's are 14% of the plays in a game. (About 8 plays a game.) 6 of those plays were good for UGA last year. So we are talking maybe 2 plays per game.

I also want a OLB guy recruiting, not a special teams guy.

Throw UM of Florida in that example. Agree, CMR could do the job.

Agree. defense is more a part of the game staistically than special teams. bama and UF don't have a ST coor. Now that Richt has a DC worth a darn, he can focus on ST.
