With Meyer Gone, Its Time For Georgia's Richt

If the news of Urban Meyer's departure sent a gasp of disbelief through the Gator Nation, it should have sent a sigh of relief to Mark Richt.

Not that Richt is happy to see a fellow coach step down in the face of physical problems, which I know he's not, but this could be the break that Richt has been lacking since Urban Meyer laid claim to the SEC East.

Now Mark Richt has a shot to lay claim to the SEC East for himself and the Georgia Bulldogs.

The timing is perfect on one hand. No matter who the hire is, there will be a period of rebuilding not only the coaching staff, but the post-Tebow team of players as well.

Thats kind of stupid to even say, isnt richt like 2-2 or 2-3 against Meyer? It wasnt like he was unbeatable to richt and I think UT is going to be a bigger problem coming up as long as monte is there with junior. I am hoping more and more that chavis is the hire so UGA can have a smack you in the jaw type defense again, this toilet paper \"bend dont break\" defense just doesnt work.

One things for sure, the SEC East just had a HUGE power vacuum and Richt should be in the best spot to exploit it. If he doesn't it wouldn't surprise me to see Kiffin fill the void... Of course all this may be moot if Florida pulls in a real winner....

CMR is 1-4 against UM.

Also, I believe this actually puts MORE pressure on CMR to win the game. When people start thinking that you SHOULD win the game.......there's more pressure to get it done. Lokk no further to the time we lost to Zook. We all expected a win.
