Told You This Would Happen

I remember saying this time last year that I hoped and prayed Matthew Stafford would not come out in the draft. I said that Detroit would draft him, they would fail to protect him and they would shorten his career. And look: the fourth injury of his rookie season has placed him on IR and requiring knee surgery.

Get well soon, Matthew, and TO HELL WITH THE DETROIT LIONS ORGANIZATION!!! PROTECT YOUR TALENT!!!

He needs to get the hell out of that hole that is Detroit or he's not gonna be around much longer. The sad thing is, the few times they have protected him, he's shown flashes of brilliance. He definitely has the tools to be great in the league and could be a pro-bowler with a decent offensive line. But right now he's just a punching bag. They can't build the team around him if he can't play!

I found this year to be a solid one for MS even with the bad stats

His Browns game was seen by everyone in and around the NFL. Him being mic'ed up got RAVE reviews everywhere I saw including freakin UF forums.....

He got experience....He got leadership skills....and he got the respect of teammates

Agree with Dapolla. Detroit is a death sentence for QBs. I honestly believe any other team and MS could be the rookie of the year.
