B. J. Butler -- Here We Go . . .

14 years 11 months ago #26464 by Buc
On a down note, looks as if . . . .

Osceola's B.J. Butler awaiting Louisville offer and he'll likely decommit Georgia

He will be going to Louisville and play for Charlie Strong, book it. Butler would have been a seriously good DE for UGA. Things like this happen, all of these early commits get too much press in my opinion. Signing day is what counts.

Another good reason for a STABLE COACHING PROGRAM. Do well with your choice for DC Coach Richt.

Talent? Maybe. But this guy sounds like a loser, Buc. Good riddance. From the orlando sentinel:

Butler had some issues with getting right toward the end of his senior year, when Osceola Coach Jeff Rolson suspended him for the final two games for \"disciplinary reasons.\"

\"It wasn't an argument or anything like that,\" said Butler, who would have been reinstated had Osceola been able to get past Lakeland in the state quarterfinals. \"They said I was uncoachable and disrespectful. They told me to hit the house, so I hit the house.\"

The SMART era CONTINUES!!!!!!

If his high school coach was unhappy with him, let's hope Louisville offers.

Can't disagree with what you guys are saying. Knew that he had some issues with his coach. Thought that had been worked out. Do know that he is a good football player, however \"good\" football players can cause a lot of problems it seems. Know that we pulled a scholarship offer last year for a young player that had some problems with \"authority\". Guess they need to spend a little time in Parris Island or Pendleton sadlerdawg. ;)

I think he goes to Louisville. Maybe Coach Strong is what the young man needs.

We had a linebacker not too far back that was a monster (both on and off the field) went to the NFL Bengals and continued his \"off the wall\" behavior. Of course how we are raised makes a huge difference . . . . also, too much media these days for these young men not to \"get out of hand\".

Not an excuse, I understand, would like to see efforts made to help these young men become more adaptable to the real \"outside world\".

Don't need his problems in Athens.. Also, has any other big time schools offered him?.....like Bama, UF etc....if not, there's your confirmation.

Louisville scares me because we've got them two years in a row as our first game of the season. If strong brings his style of D successfully to that program, it could be trouble for us, given how we usually start slow and take the first 2 games or so to work out the kinks before hitting the conference schedule.
