\"Lucrative Run\"

\"Lucrative Run\" was created by DAWG1277
It is being reported on a couple different sites that we are making a \"lucrative run\" at Kirby Smart. I guess that means \"alot of money\" and \"responsibility\". What do you all think our realistic chances are of bring CKS back to the classic city? This would be a huge Christmas present for us Dawgs. And, if for some reason it doesn't come through, at least we know that CMR is going after the real deal, and not just a \"maybe\" coach.

Thoughts?

My 2 cents.

I feel that when knowledgable football \"people\" think of Bama's D, the first thing that comes to their mind is Saban. He's considered the defensive \"genious\" and not so much KS. So if I were KS and had future aspirations of becoming a HC at a major college, I believe I would want to go to a big time program, turn their D around and make a big name for myself. Imo, he NEEDS to get out from under Saban's shadow. Ok, so what are his choices.....FSU, UGA, UF? Give you one guess who wins.

If you are also wondering about the \"falling out\" between KS and CMR, my sources said that yes, there was a falling out but that it has been all \"ironed out\". So the past shouldn't be a stumbling block in their talks.

Also would think that CMR would have contacted KS yesterday or today.

That makes alot of sense, that he might want to get out from under Saban. Never thought of it that way wlayton, good point. I had heard of the falling out between the coaches, but never knew how big a deal it was or wasn't. Let's all keep our fingers crossed that this actually pans out if it is indeed the right decision.

Go Dawgs.

Muschamp, Saban's protege now at Texas.

Hope Smart is as good. Who will he want as assistants?

Watching Saturday's game, I saw a lot of intensity from Smart.
The name at least defines our defensive aspirations.

Whats funny is seeing all the alabama fans scream he would be stupid to leave!!!!!

But this lateral(and well paid) move makes sense, hes away from saban and if he can turn around this defense then he will get a major HC job in under 5 years. He would be stupid not to make this move since the best he can hope for while at bama is a small time program then work his way up.

I hope he comes, if not him then get bumpas.
