So I know I'm the research guy. But I'm also a fan, a fan who likes to live vicariously through his Dawgs. And while I'm still revelling in the win over Tech, the best game for me of the season was a game I attended, the 31-24 victory over Auburn. So I was reliving the game by looking it up and reading reviews of it, and here's what I found out: the all-time series is currently in Auburn's favor at 53-52-8.
What does this mean?
It means everyone bust your humps down to Opelika next year, because Georgia could tie up the series for the first time since 1987. Auburn has led the series by at least a game since a 20-10 loss between the hedges in Vince Dooley's final year. It also means get your tickets NOW for the Rivalry in 2011 in Athens, when Georgia could take the lead in the series for the first time since 1986. Wins in 2010 and 2011 would also give Georgia a 6-game winning streak in the series, something we haven't achieved since winning nine straight from 1923-1931.
Georgia currently holds the points lead all-time 1778-1722, thanks largely to blowing Auburn out in 2006 and 2007 and scoring 30+ points on them in four of the last five games (the lone exception being the 17-14 victory in 2008).
I get more excited about the Auburn game than any other game all year, and Auburn is always the only team I just can't wrap my mind around beating. I expect to beat Tech and I'm always foolishly optimistic that we'll beat Florida. Auburn, though, is...well, they're Auburn. Beating them is something we just don't do very well. At least, not in my mind.
So it's three and a half weeks too late for this year and 48 and a half early for next year, but GO DAWGS! BEAT THEM WAREAGLETIGERPLAINSMEN OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN!!!!!

Track 'em, Dawgs, just like beagles
