Coaching blunders....catch word....Bobo

15 years 5 months ago #25707 by wlayton
I have to VENT on the stupid coaching calls last night and want others to chime in as well. I'll start with mine........all just my opinion.

1. First qtr, down 6-0 we have a 1st down at UK's 11 yard line. First play we run the ball to the 2 yard line.....now 2nd and 1 for a 1st down or 2nd and 2 for TD. After running the ball up the middle for NINE yards, what does Bobo call?.......a fake run with a roll out pass play. Incomplete, now 3rd down, run the ball for a loss and have to settle for three.

Second and ONE for a 1st down....2nd at two for a TD.....just ran 9 freaking yards....RUN THE DANG BALL and quit trying to look so cute, nice call Bobo.

2. Pooch kickoffs.....unbelievable. We score to pad the lead and pooch the ball and they run it to around our 48.....immediately go down and score......KICK THE FREAKING BALL DEEP.

3. Put Evans in street clothes.....enough said, he would never play for me....EVER.

4. Score 34-27, we are 3rd and goal from the 1 yard line. Don't know who may have screwed the play up but you should NEVER......NEVER call a \"pitch play\" from the ONE YARD LINE. QB should stick the ball in the RB's gut to MAKE SURE YOU DON'T FUMBLE THE BALL. Nice call Bobo, pitch the ball to a freshman when you only need ONE YARD.......QB should make sure he gets the ball.......TERRIBLE play call.

5. Ok we get the ball back at mid field with a little less than 2 minutes. What does Bobo call? The SAME play that worked the drive before to get a 4th and 4 first down. FINE, it worked before BUT.....CK was going against a very experience LB and had faked him out the first time. That LB had been eating our lunch all day, think he didn't know what was coming??? Heck yes he did.......didn't take the fake and got the INT (which Cox should have seen and not thrown the ball anyway). Nice call AGAIN, Bobo, your playbook must consist of 8 plays.

Can't think anymore....too tired....too disgusted.....too tired of being embarrassed.

IMO some of the abandonement of the run was to showcase(and I use thatb term loosely) JC as a Senior playing his last game at home. Our O took more shots downfield then I have ever seen in this game. It has been the norm to play and go to alot of Seniors on Senior day to give them a bone so to speak.

I agree we should just run the dang ball. Seemed the run set up the pass in the first half and worked well. Seemed we went to the exact opposite in the second half.

Agree the playcalling in the final two offensive series made no darn sense.

On the bright side JC was about the only senior we had to \"showcase\" :X on offense. Alot of young talent coming back. Let the competition for next year's QB begin.

W layton the biggest coaching blunder is that Bobo is our OC. He is terrible. I agree with everything you said. The only thing I'll add is that A White needs to stay on the sideline. O Charles is going to be the best tight end in football for the next couple of years. We need to put our best players on the field. Oh and by the way Bobo is terrible. If CMR doesn't make the needed changes then he is horrible. He is the beginning and the end of our problems. He wanted to be the CEO, so he should be treated as a CEO. I am glad that Cox only has one maybe two games left. He got a lot more cheers before the game when they were introducing seniors than he deserved. Last night was the low point of the season. If we get embarrassed by top 20 teams that is one thing. We got embarrassed by KENTUCKY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't agree more! the only thing I would add is after the halftime fumble the players didn't play with as much emotion. The D was put behind the 8ball to many times in the second half due to turnovers. You can't turn the ball over 4 times in one half an expect to pull it out. We will get destroyed next week and it won't be fun to watch. I have never felt so disgusted than i was last night. Even the blow out loses to TN and FL didn't bother me as much as this one does. Squib kick after the go ahead score!! WTF was that about.

Wlayton,it seems you and I are ablout the only ones on this site with the exception of Buc that can see the problems with this team. We have been saying all year long the problems and nothing is being done to correct the situation. I for one am so sick of the excusses CMR keep making about the turn overs and that the D is playing good ball. As I said in another post, why can some or thousands of us see the problems, but yet our head man refuses to admitt there is one. I truely believe that CMR does not think there is a problem, he really thinks that we just had bad luck this year and the ball just bounced to wrong way.

I am so upset my our sprcial teams play and why we will not kick to the end zone, by doing this which we can do, you don't have to worry about the other team getting the ball on the 35 or 40 or even running it all the way back. Coach Fabris is a jole, and I can't believe the CMR continues to let this man call what type of kick offs we are to have. It just says to me that CMR is to nice of a guy to say what he wants done and put to much faith in his coaches.

I am like you with the play calling, we only have 8 plays, we have a whole year and JC has had 5 years to learn every play UGA has. With the 4 years as back up, I don;t see why JC can't run the offense with out any help much less only limited number of plays.

I heard CMR say that the players have already put this game out of their minds and are getting ready of Tech. I can't wait, I just hope that Johnson will play his 2nd string in the 2nd half so we don;t get embarrased to bad.
