Lost faith :-(

First I have to say I'm not making any excuses for the team. This is just what I see as a fan. Nothing more and nothing less.

First WM has to go. I know this is totally cliche at this point in time but enough is enough. The fact that Bryan Evans starts is enough to damn him in my opinion. Evans was penalized twice tonight for PI. The guy should know better by now being a 5th yr senior and captain. Horrendous effort on his part vs. UK and really all season. It is a known fact that since BVG left, the Dawgs defense has slid statistically ever since. I haven't seen the Dawgs give up so many points in a season since maybe the end of the Goff era. Pathetic. The mass exodus of fans tonight is indication that the faithful have lost faith.

Second the offense is really young with exception of the line and Cox. I will give Bobo and the offense a pass THIS season. Wooten, T. King, A.J Green, Orson Charles, Aaron White, Caleb King, Washun Ealy and Branden Smith. All of these guys are freshmen or sophomores. I've heard people complain that our offense is plain, simple, uninspired and predictable. Of course it is when most of your play-makers were playing high school football this time last season. Plus it doesn't help that Cox makes poor choices under duress. He doesn't like getting hit and throws the ball to anyone who will take it to avoid the hit. This I attribute to riding the pine for the past 4 yrs. I'll admit I don't \"play in the arena\" as he does, but guess what? I'm not here on a football scholarship chief. If he didn't want any scrutiny then he should have played for a smaller school with less tradition and expectations.

I think this season was a perfect storm of crap coaching and rebuilding. Plain and simple. I think CMR was counting on WM to come through and help win some games but in the end WM let everyone down. That D can't stop anything with a pulse. Just because we turn the ball over shouldn't mean automatic TD. Once you get the ball to our 30 you can almost count on getting 7 on the board. I know the guys on the team want to at least make a bowl but I will admit I am totally uninterested in any bowl bid that may come our way. Hell I'm not even sure a 6-6 UGA team is worthy of a bowl. I hate to sound like a fair-weather fan but I've seen the Dawgs stink up the gridiron before and don't care to suffer through it again. I'm ready for this season to end and pretend like it never happened. :(

Go Dawgs!!!!

I think alot of people have lost faith. I knew we could win the game last night but we didn't. I know I will make some people mad but so be it. CMR has put up some great numbers since coming to GA but I never liked the hire from the beginning but was enjoying the wins and trips to the bowls but we still couldn't beat FL. would lose a game here or there and win the bowl game. I never got over the fact that Erk Russel was never given the job after Dooley left and I have always said that Dooley knew that Erk would blow his stats out of the water. Great Coach. Even though I don't like CMR style of coaching I believe he is good for the program, no arrest for anything. He does need to be held accountable to us the fans and to this program because the GA Bulldawg program is a proud nation. I saw people leaving the game early last night and have only seen that once before in my history with this program (since 1978) and that was under Geoff. I might agree that the offense and Bobo deserve a pass but everyone of the other coaches need to be fired. I hold CMR accountable for the amount of penalties since has always been his trade mark, 5- 15 yard penalties in one game, thats a disgrace. I want to see CMR get some fire in his belly and show us he really wants to be the head coach of a winning program and he expects the best and will settle for no less. I believe we don't deserve to go to a bowl game but I want our young freshmen to experience that so they say to themselves this was great but we want a better bowl. Lets pull our belts tight and get through the game with the Bees and show our Bulldawg pride with heads held high and then we take what bowl they give us then we get to work and demand that this season never happens again.CMR you have one season to prove to us that you are not just a great man but also a great CEO. We are the Bulldawg nation and we will rise up again.
Rest in peace UGA VII. This team has given us all a heart attack but you were just to young to handle it. At least you never dissapointed us.
Go Dawgs!

Hey Yall, Well I have now Sobered up from last nights lastest embarassment. I cant believe a DAWG team played a 2nd half against KY like that, even with cwm an JC, or I guess I can. For some reason I thought they would have some pride in thereselves and UGA an not roll over. I am sick at my stomach at what I have seen this yr, and especially last night. I hope we do not go to a bowl, We do not deserve one, I believe no 6 win team should go, The only bowl they deserve is the U-Haul bowl, so they can go to CWM house and a few others with JC a Get out of athens!!! God Bless UGA7 DGD!!!!

There won't be a second chance. If Bobo stays then Richt is betting his job on it.

Best & most honest statement I've seen on here in a while. The only thing I'd add to that is that we haven't seen any rebuilding in the coaching department of UGA......yet. You can bet your bottom dollar that will happen after this season

Yep, you and the rest of us! But I came to realize a while back that CMR isn't that type of coach, so I'm not upset anymore when I don't see him get into the game. I liken Richt to Tony Dungy, very stoic and very emotionless. The biggest burst of emotion I've ever seen out of Richt - right, wrong or indifferent - was the FL endzone celebration in 2007. And of course, when that happened, what did some in the Bulldog nation say: \"Ohhhh, we're above that. Oh we don't need to do that. Oh we act like it's the first TD we've ever scored. Come on CMR, be a little more classy.\" Then you had the national media pile on and bitch and moan about CMR pulling a \"classless stunt.\" He's damned if he does damned if he doesn't in that regard. I for one don't want to see Mark Richt out there slinging his headset down, kicking over Gatorade jugs, throwing playbooks down acting like a little pissed off child who didn't get his way.

Ok, some points on the \"fire all the bastards\" commentary...

I understand the frustration. I really, really do. But I am not on the \"fire Mark Richt and give this entire coaching staff an enema\" bandwagon as of yet. It's going to be very difficult to justify, even for a program with the highest of expectations, firing a coach that continues to bring phenomenal recruiting classes, won 2 SEC Championships and has been to 8 bowl games. Am I ready to settle for that? No. Do I want more? Yes. Mark has done wonders for this program and by saying that, I'm not using that to give him a perpetual pass. He too shall be held accountable for his results, sooner rather than later if seasons like this keep up. But if you guys are tired of the results we're seeing, are you prepared to suffer through the introduction of an entire new system at UGA and the learning curve that it will require? At this point, I'm not. I'll give CMR more time and see if he can turn this ship around. He has the players, he has the talent, the offense scheme needs a makeover but the defense needs a complete overhaul.

I think Richt's longevity of his tenure at UGA will be determined by the upcoming offseason changes. It will be very interesting to see who he brings in to replace the coaching staff and it will also be very telling as to what direction we head in next season.

One final thought: I was almost stoned to death by some UGA friends of mine when I said that I would take losing out the rest of this season, including FL, to affect a coaching staff change to FINALLY get rid of the weak links in this chain, starting with Willie Martinez. Guess what, if we had an 8-4 season this year my guess is that Willie would still have his job and we'd be sitting around for another season listening to Mark justify keeping Willie on board. Sometimes it takes hitting rock bottom to see up and I believe we've hit rock bottom with this current group of defensive coaches.

Keep the faith, don't lose it.

All that sounds really good, except CMR will not make any changes in his staff. I hear him after every game defend the defense. He claims with all the turn overs we put to much pressure on the D.

I don't see it that way and you don't see it that way nor does 100,000 other people, but CMR will lose his job before he makes any changes. This is just the type man he is, and it will be up to the Board as to force CMR tomake changes or for CMR to resign.

You can mark my words, and I am almost willing to bet you that come Jan, Feb, March ect, you will see no changes, CMR will do the same thing he did last year, and that is to say that he will be more hands on as to what is being done. He still lets his coaches run the show, and this is ovious from the sorry special teams we have. You go and recrute a guy from Calf, give him a scholarship so he can kick it in the end zone, yet he does not play. Why let coach Fabris tell him he is going to pooch kick and give KY the ball on the 30 or 40 every time.

You can bet, we will all be sitting here next year saying the same things, with no change in place.
