Realize this is not a sport for serious talk on this or many other boards.

UGA Ladies Swim Team -- Voted #1 Preseason.
UGA Men's Swim Team -- Voted #9 Preseason.

Georgia Faces Auburn Friday.

TOUGHEST TRAINING OF ALL SPORTS IN MY OPINION. TOUGH . . . . . .

UGA has had a superior swim program for many, many years.

GO DAWGS!!

Buc, as a former competitive swimmer myself (durned neck injury took me out of contention), I think that it IS a topic for serious discussion.

You are absolutely right about the training. Tougher than anything else you'll ever do, save maybe cross-country. I think Jack Bauerle is the next Suzanne Yoculan in terms of head coaches who're revered even though they're not in a \"popular\" sport. What he's done with the swimming and diving program is unreal. Also, it's great to see that the men are creeping up in terms of respect. #9 is pretty high for them. As for the ladies...well, they're where they should be. Let's win another national title, Swim Dawgs!

dapolla, remember you telling me that you swam. I know that my son was in the pool six days a week, two hours a day. Those chlorine jugs filled with water, tied to (BOTH LEGS). That did not count the \"high school practices\". If you swam for any length of time, know that you must still reap the benefits. Incredible workouts, weights and many, many other things. JB is the man, highly respected here in Central Florida. :)
