In 8.66 seasons, the Dawgs have scored 50 or more only 6 times, and 60 or more only once. (The good news is we've only been on the other side of that equation once.) I bring this up because I think CMR ought to let the Dawgs loose tomorrow. Sure, TennTech isn't a big time program, but nothing feels better than to beat down an opponent. Also, given our performance this year, I don't think we can be accused of overkill because we really haven't shown much. So, I say can we get at least 60 pts, Mr. Richt?
Donnan was 2 and 1 in this. Goff was 4 and 2, but did let the Dawgs score 70 against ULM in '94. Dooley was the man, though. 10 games of 50 or more points and not one time in 25 years did the Dawgs give up more than 45 pts (when Nebraska beat us down in the '69 Sun Bowl). In fact, Dooley's Dawgs were notoriously tough to score on. Only 22 times did the Dawgs give up 30 or more under Dooley (10.4% of games). By contrast, the Dawgs held opponents to less than 10 pts 97 times (33.6%). Of course, Vince had a pretty good DC most of those years, lol.
Okay, now I've bored you with absolutely useless statistics, I'm sending you back to your regularly scheduled day...
