I don't suppose I can implore everybody to agree on everything, but the fact is that there are several topics that have become worn, especially in the context of having four games still left in the season. (And how will we feel if we end up 8-4?)For that reason, I thought I'd just post the casualties here and hope we can begin to talk about other things (and the irony of this coming from me is not unnoted.)
Willie Martinez needs to go. We probably have close to consensus agreement on this. Willie won't go by season's end. Whether he goes after the season is fodder for January's posts.
Mike Bobo needs some creativity, perhaps some more time as an assistant OC. I imagine we're split here. Mike will be back next year, but he'll suffer the same outcry as CWM if the offense sputters in '10.
CMR is a good coach. Probably, we are split between good and great, with a few calling for his head. CMR is not going anywhere. If his seat is hot, it's due to his reluctance/inability to make changes in his staff. At least he now knows how passionate the Dawg nation gets when the team underperforms.
Our players are underperforming. We're likely split on whether or not it's due to coaching or talent, with the curve skewed toward the \"coaching\" end. The unfortunate thing is that we are now talking about \"next\" year's team, and that now carries a great measure of uncertainty. Still, this is pretty evident, but as I started this post, what if we end up 8-4? It's a tough road, but a win against Tech certainly would be a salve for our wounds.
