Georgia is \"out of shape and weak\".

15 years 3 weeks ago #25203 by DawgFanInTn
That comment from the Coaches Hot Seat Blog. Here is the text.

Mark Richt has a hellava mess on his hands at Georgia – Everyone in the Georgia media keeps talking about the departures of Moreno and Stafford or that the Georgia defense is not very good (it is mediocre), but we are going to let everyone in on the real problem with the Georgia football team. Georgia is getting its ass beat by every decent team that it has come up against in recent years because the Georgia football team is OUT OF SHAPE! Not only is the Georgia football team OUT OF SHAPE it is also WEAK! Anyone that doesn’t believe that Georgia is OUT OF SHAPE and WEAK just watch the Georgia offensive and defensive lines in games against decent teams….THEY ARE GETTING WHIPPED on play after play and that is because Mark Richt has allowed the Georgia football team to get out of shape and to get weak and if Richt doesn’t want to get run out of Athens he had better get his team into shape and get their asses into the weight room and actually lifting weights and getting stronger. If Coaches Hot Seat showed up in Athens tomorrow and put the Georgia “Out of Shape and Weak” Bulldogs through our conditioning test we really doubt if half the team would finish it. Georgia is 4-4 and they have Tennessee Tech, Auburn, Kentucky and at Georgia Tech left. Even an OUT OF SHAPE and WEAK Georgia football team should be able to win at least 3 of those games, so let’s see what this OUT OF SHAPE and WEAK Georgia team can do! Maybe in the offseason Georgia can get back to some real conditioning and weight lifting instead of the country club they have been running up in Athens in recent years.

If I were the coaches or the administration, I would not underestimate the wrath of Georgia alumni, fans and donors.
Time for total changes.
I am sick of excuses for mediocrity.

All this talk about coaching changes is causing me to have
flashbacks of when BAMA and FLA were coach surfing.
It's not as simple as it seems, look how long it took BAMA to
get it right...Fla wasn't much better with Zook....

Please tell me we're not falling into that category of lnsanity.
I dont think I can handle years like BAMA went thru Pre Saban.
We're better than that....aren't we? CMR's winning pct. indicates we are.
3 of the 4 teams we've lost to are in the top 20....2 of them are in
the top 10. Tenn. is playing like they belong there too now.
I'm not taking up for CWM...Im just trying to make some sense out
of this season before I go insane(er).

I think we should be careful of what we wish for.....

it's not hard when you make up your mind to hire people who have already proven themselves. When you try to find the \"next great coach\" is when you end up with people like Mike Shula, Tommy Bowden, and Willie Martinez. Or - put another way - quit buying green lumber and you don't end up with warped roof beams.

I personally think I t has more to do with D coaching and penalties, and turn overs than being out of shape, They have a great weight room and 95% of players pride themselves on being in shape cause to get here, they had to have been in a work out routine most there high school life on, Plus most these guys are tryin to make it to the pros and make money so they work out anyway. It really is coaching. Thats my opinion anyway.

It seems to me that if it was strength and conditioning then there would be a sharp rise in penalties like as the game went on. Not a perfect litmus test, but one that can be easily extracted from a statistics database. Anyone in the mood to do so?
