Thought I would mention a couple of things that really get under my skin at times.
Looking around and reading the different blogs and newspaper hype, one would think that the only players on a football team are the running backs, quarterbacks, wide receivers and tight ends. Lord knows that we have to have those.
Look at the schools that year after year seem to do the best when it comes to win/loss records. Never fails that the recruiters and coaches are always looking for those folks that make the above mentioned players look like stars.
Cody for Bama is an excellent example. Ask any fan or player of Bama who the star was in the UT game. This is why the coaches like Saban and others will always have talented and highly rated football teams. They know that it all starts in the pits. Line not good . . . . backs not good.
This year we were supposed to be set on the offensive line . . . . yes I know, we had injuries, guess what, others did also. So if the offensive line is not getting it done, guess that explains why our backs are having such a rough year. Big backs, small backs, not much happening running the ball. Coaching, your guess is as good as mine at this point.
Defensive line returning some serious talent this year and UT hangs all of those points on us. What is wrong there, supposed to be highly rated linemen coming out of high school.
One of the senior members of this board warned early and loudly that defensive end was going to cause us many headaches. If our defensive ends do not protect against the sweeps on Saturday, with all of the speed that UF has, 49 will look small compared to the end result.
UF has two really good defensive ends, that will without a doubt spell trouble for Cox if we have no running game. Florida knows that they have had a couple of close calls, you can bet that they are going to try and make up for that on Saturday. If the game is close, chances are they will drop in the BCS polls. Better believe that this is the game they have to show the world that they belong to be where they are. UGA not being rated, UF has to roll over us.
My wish, each and every UGA player comes into this game committed and plays to their ability. That is all that can be asked. Don't pull the UT QUIT, play the game that you know you can be proud of. If you are proud of the game you played at every position, you can be certain we the fans will be proud of you also. Play hard, smart and make yourselves proud. GO DAWGS!
