Probably our last FBS win of the season...

The pessimism kills me here...does anyone think we have a sht at winning against UF? I am not trying to step on toes but I think we can win out all of our games no matter what. I never see any positives on here anymore...just negatives. It makes me sick. Where is the faith and passion? I know yall might say I am unrealistic but I say the dawgs can do it. If the season does go great the rest of the way...then what? Do we make excuses about how we won? Because basically the wat I have been seeing it, everytime we win we point out the bad things and never the good. MB being on the sideline was great. I saw fire from him and the evil eyes CMR was giving him may be the start of the butt kicking the coaches need to get in gear. Maybe I am naive to the rest of ya'll, but my heart will always be optimistic to the dogs and I will always think we can WIN EVERY GAME!

misplaceddawg, certainly understand that all cannot be on the same page. If the Dawgs were undefeated at this point, there would still be some (such as myself) that would look at every phase of the games played and reflect on them. I highlight in bold type a statement from your post above. MB being on the sideline was great. I saw fire from him and the evil eyes CMR was giving him may be the start of the butt kicking the coaches need to get in gear. So, apparently you too think that there needs to be some butt kicking where the coaching staff is concerned.

One cannot tell how long a poster has been around this board because number of posts don't always reflect the time spent here. Many folks read and don't post. Prior to the failure of WM this year, there were warnings the past few years that something was wrong on that side of the ball. Each year it has progressively gotten worse but the influx of highly rated football talent has not fallen off. Leads many of us to ask the question of our team and its leaders, \"What is going on.\"

I would say this to you misplaceddawg . . . Read the AJC, or many other forums, and I guess that you probably already do that. I think that you will find that this is probably the most dedicated group of UGA fans to be found on the internet. Not just fans, long time fans and supporters of the Red and Black. Many played the game, some have watched for years in the seats between the hedges. I cannot think of one person that posts or starts threads here that does not love the Dawgs as much as you do.

Just for kicks, I would say that you also have some frustrations with this coaching staff. If not, you are probably close to being in the minority. Glad that you post and stand up for the Dawgs.

You're reading too much into it, or not enough. Look, fans ALWAYS gripe when their team loses. They gripe louder when their team loses more. They gripe when players don't live up to their advertised talent. They gripe when coaches make poor decisions or consistently let down the fans by abandoning winning strategies or hanging on to things that don't work.

Fans have a vested interest in winning. By vested I mean that they trade their loyalty for the team's performance on the field. The problem for fans, or with fans--depending on your point of view, is that this is all they have. Fans can't play. Fans can't get in players' ears (at least, not directly) when they screw up. Fans can call for firing coaches all day long but it becomes little more than background noise in the grand scheme of a season.

Think about the last time you went to a restaurant and got lousy service. Did you complain? Why? If you did, it's likely because you cared about the experience and because you didn't want to pay for a lousy meal. That's the fan analogy. If you didn't complain, deciding instead never to come back, it's because you didn't care about the restaurant, knowing you have plenty of other options and chalking up the meal to a bad choice among many.

Fans have one choice, and one choice alone.

Georgia fans love Georgia and want every experience to be top notch. Problem is, the team, the program, has let the fans down just lately. It isn't the restaurant customer's job to fix the meal, it's the team in the kitchen, whether the cooks or the managers.

So, here we are. We expected Cordon-bleu fare and have been left with a bad taste in our mouths this season. What are we to do? Should we quietly igonore what we're served, or should we complain and hope that somebody in the kitchen hears us and steps up to the grill? Remember, for Dawg fans, there's only one place in town where we go to eat. Please don't confuse negativity with passion. Oh, it's negative, but complaining is by nature negative. Complaining is also one of the very distinct sounds of passion. It is the antithesis of the cheer, but it is no less important in terms of passion and, hold on to your seat, loyalty. Yes, loyalty. If the appetizer disappoints, but the entree rocks, fans can be forgiven for remaining quiet until things get good. However, if the whole meal stinks, and we say nothing then we deserve that aftertaste.

Think about this: if fans had not complained during the Donnan years, he'd likely still be managing the joint and we would have grown accustomed to the taste of crow. But he's gone, and the new management has had rave reviews, for the most part. If he cooks up something sweet in J'ville, do you think the reviews will be negative? I doubt it. There are two opportunites for fans to call this a successful season. The aforementioned, and that last game against the gnats. I'm holding out for miracles at this point, but regardless of all my \"negativity\" and complaints to the management, there's still only one place for me to eat and despite how this season pans out, I'll be back at the joint til the day I die.

This analogy has made me hungry.

"The freedom of individuals to verbally to oppose or to challenge police actions without thereby risking arrest is one of the principal characteristics by which we distinguish a free nation from a police state."

Listen, I didnt want to make it out as though all I hear was complaining and no good. I also dont think just b/c MB was on the sidelines makes him a great coach...but I do think it is a step in the right direction. I do believe that the coaching staff needs to be looked at hard...CWM first and foremost. I dont know if it is that I am one of those epole who will get a dinner of avg or below avg quality and not say anything or if I just look at things to work themselves out in the end. Your realism is appreciated and I am sure I may be one of the youngest dawgs on here(26) but I just believe sometimes to much realism can be percieved negatively. I just as the next dawg fan know it has been almost 30 years since we won a NC and me being 26 I didnt get to even taste that victory. So, forgive me for saying this but I am damn hungry to taste some victory...but I think my biggest difference is I keep my \"realism\" inside more than others and stomach that below avg meal quietly. As far as our team goes, I will be here always until the day I die bleeding red and black. Just so you dont think I am to blind to the \"realistic\" points of what is going on...I do think we need a new DC and I do think CMR should take over play calling. I remeber when we ate the gators in 07 that fire that we had. I cant wait to see if it is there again this year in Jacksonville. Last but not least, i respect every person in here opinions and posts. I take them and run with each of them. There has been no stepping on my toes nor vice versa. I appreciate yall's POV and hope to continue to keep posting with you fine dawg fans!!!!!!!!!!!

Go dawgs!

No, and as long as you show up for the Dawgs every week then I suppose to each his own. We're fans in our own way, and we're all suffering right now. Some of us just suffer more loudly than others.

Beating women is not funny, but beating Tebow makes me giddy like a gay dude in a shoe store.

We need to focus our collective energy on this game.

I just read an article tonight about Orson Charles literally breaking Floridas crystal national championship trophy during recruiting.

www2.tbo.com/content/2008/apr...broken-trophy/

I would love for him to break theirs figuratively this year.
