fire_dawg, I too believe that there are some under currents on the team (coaches and players).
Being as I am retired, I go to many, many sites that carry information or opinions about UGA. Surprisingly, the noise that is out there now is as loud as I have ever witnessed.
Sports writers, blogs, fans, you name it, folks from all areas seem to have one or two things in common when it comes to where they think the problems are. The same questions and statements that I see the most are about the Defense (first) and the failure of the Offense (second). For a period of four or five years the decline is noticeable and gets more pronounced every year.
There are many opinions as to the depth of necessary action that should be applied. My opinion is this . . . . Coach Richt has to reassert himself and go back to running the team with a much heavier hand. He did his dead level best to give up some of his responsibilities to folks that he thought and hoped would prove to be excellent coaches. Did not work, will not work with the current group. Many people including myself have owned their own businesses, been through some of the things that Coach Richt is going through right now. There were a few times over the years that I had to call myself on the carpet, why . . . . because I became too complacent with the business and employees, and the advantage goes to no one in that scenario.
Looks like another player has been suspended for the upcoming game this weekend. One game suspension, but that could be the beginning of much deeper problems with this team.
Agree with you 100%, you can see it in the way the players are playing.
