BVG and CMR clashed like oil and water...True while BVG was here, he brought back much of the JYD swagger that we all long for, but the inner coaching climate was not healthy and I suspect CMR \"allowed\" BVG to leave before he was shown the door....Dapolla's analogy is spot on...and I believe that period was referred to as a \"cancer\" growing in the program....
I've also read numerous posts querying why CMR hasn't retaken the OC reigns from CMB...UUhhhh,...has everyone forgotten a few years back when many outspoken critics called for CMR's head when HE was the OC???....
At the risk of being labeled a \"sunshine pumper\", I'll concede that much is needed to fix what is broken with our defense, but our problems are NOT entirely the defense's fault. When a brand, spanking new HC can say he looks forward to playing UGA, because he knows what to expect from them (us).....That, IMVHO, speaks volumes about our vanilla play calling. We are predictable and put NO FEAR in ANYONE! Think about it,...two years ago Stafford and Moreno had their coming out party...Moreno offered the ignition for Staffords cannon and most teams, including UF, faultered...The next year?!?!?....Same plays,...much different results!...This year, same plays, and other than AJ no real play makers have stepped up, particularly at RB, we become predictable, one dimensional, and as demonstrated Saturday, easily embarrassed!..Yes,...in the SEC, defense wins football games,..but not with an impotent offense!
So while we make lists of potential replacements on one side, we must be willing to consider the other side as well. Likewise, forget Charlie Strong, unless you are offering him the HC job. Charlie has already paid he's dues and will have a fist full of jewelry before he takes the most logical, next step......But the thought is certainly interesting..........
