Yes wlayton, Alabama is a very good team. Everyone keeps talking UF, but it looks like the road to the SEC Championship may go through Alabama. They are not perfect, but they do look very SOLID.

I'll tell you what hurts our cause about the SCarolina win over Ole Miss: the idiotic pollsters. What kind of voter takes a 6-point loss to a conference opponent and says, \"Yes, that is worthy of dropping a team from #4 to #21\"? A 17-spot drop for losing a six-point game in the SEC? What in the hell is wrong with the AP this year? They are completely knee-jerk insane!

So now, instead of us having beaten a team that beat the #4 team in the country, we've beaten a team that defeated quote-unquote \"an Ole Miss team that really wasn't as good as their ranking.\" Give me a frickin' break. How far did Florida fall last year after losing a one-point game to an unranked Ole Miss team? Not 17 spots, I guarantee you that! Ole Miss is now effectively out of the national title picture. And if I were a SCarolina fan I'd be even angrier. You mean that SCarolina (who's 4-1, by the way) is so bad that a top-five team losing to them must mean that they're now not a top-twenty team?

Give me a break, AP pollsters. You people are idiots.

Dapolla, the Cocks are 3-1 not 4-1. Must I follow you around the forum correcting your posts?
Anyway, I agree that was way too far to drop Ole Miss. Florida went from No. 4 to No. 12 after the loss last year.
One big difference though is that Florida dominated the game vs. Ole Miss and made critical errors to loss that one. Even still, lost it on a 1 in 100 chance on missing the XP.
Whereas, Ole Miss was never in control of the game vs. SC.
Still, way to far too drop in the polls. I would put them in the mid teens.

Gotta agree with ya GatorinGa, Ole Miss just looked awful, they were totally dominated more than the score showed....imo. And agree with both of you that it was a ridiculous drop in the polls.

The polls will always be nonsensical and idiotic until they:

a) Abolish the preseason poll, and

b) Don't release the first poll until the end of September when there is a better grasp on how
\"good\" the teams actually are.

The SMART era CONTINUES!!!!!!
