Georgia Goes Indoors To Make Final Preparations

ATHENS, Ga. - The 20th-ranked Georgia Bulldogs finalized the game plan for their upcoming Southeastern Conference contest at Arkansas with a 90-minute, indoor practice at the Stegeman Coliseum Training Facility on Thursday.

Georgia (1-1, 1-0 SEC) worked out indoors in helmets and shorts to put the finishing touches on the game plan for the road contest against Arkansas (1-0, 0-0 SEC). The practice was moved inside to the Training Facilities basketball courts due to inclement weather in the Athens area.

\"We are going to go inside,\" Georgia head coach Mark Richt announced prior to the practice session. \"We've had enough practice outside in the weather. It could rain at the game. We know that but it's been kind of moist out there the last two days, so I don't feel like we need to get soggy today. We'll get a chance to concentrate on the assignments and the mental aspect of the game, which is the great majority of what today is about anyway. I think that will be good for us. I think to hold off of any kind of running today would be a good thing to help freshen up the team a little bit.\"

Richt went on to mention several Bulldogs who would back and ready to play this weekend including sophomore linebacker Nick Williams, redshirt sophomore tailback Caleb King, redshirt sophomore defensive end Justin Houston and junior offensive tackle Josh Davis. However, Richt also indicated that junior safety Quintin Banks (knee) would not play this week but could return next week.

The Bulldogs own an 8-3 edge over the Razorbacks in the all-time series including wins in the last five meetings. The teams last met in 2005, which was a 23-20 Georgia win in Athens. The Bulldogs are 3-0 all-time in Fayetteville and 4-0 overall in the series under Richt.

Saturday's meeting between Georgia and Arkansas at Razorback Stadium will be televised nationally by ESPN. Kickoff is slated for 7:47 p.m. ET with Brad Nessler calling the play-by-play, Todd Blackledge providing color analysis and Erin Andrews reporting from the sideline. All Georgia games are broadcast live on the Bulldog Radio Network on ISP Sports with Scott Howard calling the play-by-play and Eric Zeier providing color analysis. The radio audio can also be heard worldwide on both georgiadogs.com, the official website of UGA Athletics, on XM Satellite Radio channel 212 and on Sirius Satellite Radio channel 199.
