I'm just remembering 2007. We looked good against OSU and bad against SCarolina. The next few games, especially against Tennessee and Vandy, looked pretty bad; even the Alabama game was scary because we let them come back from ten-point deficits TWICE to force overtime and then let them take the lead. The D was porous, the offense was shaky except against OSU, and I didn't know where our leadership OR our fire was. Something changed in Jacksonville; it was as if our extremely talented Dawgs (and we have some on this team, my previous posts notwithstanding) finally focused on playing football to win instead of not to lose, and we started scoring points at the same time as we prevented the other team from scoring any. I've said before on this forum that I had the same preseason feeling about this team that I had about the 2005 and 2007 teams...I'm standing by that until we really lose a game we're just NOT supposed to lose.
Then again, we lost one of those (against Florida) in 2005 and another one (against SCarolina) in 2007. So maybe that'll happen and we'll still have a good year. But I just think that this team is too good to NOT put it together. They just need focus, which is our coaches' responsibility.
