Just drinking my morning joe,...

and watching the sky fall!!!.....I even told myself to steer clear on this site until Monday, because some coach, probably CWM would need extracation from under the bus!!! In true form, I am delighted to see thread subject lines mostly disspelling doom, gloom, and mayhem....Hell, I thought we WON!,...but alas, I suspect even JC bearing loaves of bread and casks of wine would be criticized herein!..Yep, the villians of yesterweek are out of the gallows and poor willie is, once again, in jeopardy....Heck, someone went so far as to preempt any logical defense of poor willie, basically cooking his goose after 2 games.....Seriously,....2 games?!?!?!....

Perhaps my near brush with the hereafter has provided me with a greater degree of reserve, but I can't recall a time when so many were so displeased, or so freaking little....Maybe a few 5 or 6 win seasons will help to temper the spoiled nature of what I've been reading....Trust me,...if we get vocal enough, we won't need to worry about CWM, because it will eventually turn toward CMR and he will be gone...and so too will ANY chance of taking the next step.

In a nutshell, the CWM Defense is COMPLETELY responsible for five (5) USC scoring drives,....One in the first quarter that netted 7, two in the second quarter that netted 6, and one in the third quarter and fourth, both netting 3...grand total of 19 points!....Fry his ass in molasses!!!...But wait,...For the second week straight our Offense and Special Teams gift wrapped several USC scoring opportunities....An offensive fumble in the first quater that lead to 7 for the Coots, a kick off fumble in the first quarter the lead to 3 for the Coots; an honorable mention to the D for hold USC to three and a field goal, a high snap in the third quarter that added 2 for the coots, and finally a pick 6 in the fourth that added 6 for the Coots....grand total of 18 points!....Seems like we need to call for another derriere to accompany old willie on the spit....!

CMR wasn't blowing smoke when he complimented his red zone defense...USC had no, zero, zip, nada touchdowns in the entire second half...instead they settled for 3...Similarly, USC had one (1) sustained drive from kickoff to tounchdown in the first half.....ONE...The remainder of their scores either field goals, or touchdowns created by our offensive or special team misques!!!..So if you expecting a CWM apologist, look elsewhere, in my book they did their job, and as a whole our Dawgs persevered, in typical Dawgs-v-USC fashion...

One thing missing....time of possession. They had a huge time of possession differential as well as 30 more plays. What that means to me is they controlled the clock and it keeps our offense OFF the field giving us less opportunities to score. If our D can get at least a few 3 and outs, we have a greater chance of putting more points on the board and US controlling the clock.

True,...but you can thank that on, once again, abandoning the run for the pass...Samuel looked great for the limited amount of time he was in....Not sure if he's just not strong enough to take multiple/sustained drives, or if our playcalling feel victim to the pass first mentality....Which, FTR, is not just a Bobo thing....CMR would often abandon the run for the pass during his stint as playcaller.....Time of possession would level out, had we not gotten into a shooting match!

True.....it would also level out if we had more possessions by getting USC's offense off the field.

Two plays led to misleading the time of possession stat. Boykin's kick off return and Smith's reverse. 14pts, about 1 minute TOP.

Get the point......our D can't stop a runny nose. A novel idea....make a D stop on THEIR side of the 50 occassionally. Keeps our D more rested and gives our O more opportunities.
