Ok folks, different kind of thread. This is about many, many years ago. It is about the way things were THEN.

Jesse Outlar, the head sportswriter for the AJC. Furman Bisher, same for the AJ. Back in the day we had two (2) newspapers coming off of the web presses in Atlanta. Constitution in the a.m. Journal in the p.m.

If you wanted to view Saturdays game, on Sunday you either had home delivery or rushed out to the drug store and put your 25/50 cents in the box and pulled out the \"huge\" newsprint. There you would have a two page spread of the game on Saturday. \"Action\" shots, gave us something to talk about, especially when we were kicking Florida's bottoms.

If any of you would like to delve into history from an \"old fart\" that was around then, have many stories that I promise you are true.

Jesse Outlar of course is no longer with us. Furman is still here and he was truly a middle of the road writer. Great respect for both of them.

On a quick note, this UGA Team has more talent than many that I have seen over the years. Would love to have Jesse here to witness this. We are so fortunate to be here and watch what I think is a really GOOD FOOTBALL TEAM.

I really like the makeup of this board, folks that talk football and not the \"stuff\" that you see in other blogs. Many links will lead folks to \"other\" sites, however this is a place that you can discuss football. Thanks wlayton, dapolla, sadlerdawg, fire_dawg, GaBoi, Watson, Limeydawg and the one dude that I respect a lot . . . . averagedawg. There are others but I think that Furman is calling me. Go Dawgs!!

wlayton, when I first joined this group, kentdaddy was posting some. Always good posts, but have only seen him here a few times for quite some time. Hoping all is well with him and he returns.

Watching the PGA, getting close to Tiger's tee time. These guys really hit some amazing shots. This should be an interesting round. Know that you are watching as well. :woohoo:

Buc,

The rush for the Sunday paper to get the game story was the only way to get it early. Atlanta shut down at midnight. There were no all night stores. If you knew where to go you could get the stores that got the first papers. I guess I am glad that trip is off my schedule although I miss the old times.

I too am happy to be Dawging with the board members. It took me a long time to gather this group up and I have enjoyed all their Dawg talk.

For winning the Natty give every Dawg a bone AND prime rib steak.
