With our recent history at that position, I don't think so. With our lack of success and rash of injuries we had at that position, I think they are doing a great job at recruiting at DE. With Battle being a Senior and Dobbs and Tripp being Juniors, we need DE and lots of them. Right now, we have eight listed on the depth chart. At G Day we barely had enough DE healthy to participate. IMO, we also need some more DT and CB.

I'll be honest, GaBoi, I'm happy that our coaches recognize the need. Hell, Richt could be like Matt Millen, falling in love with the wide receiver position. I even thought he was the other year. But the fact is that since Quentin Moses and Charles Johnson left (and that's coming up on three years now), we haven't had a dominant or even an effective DE tandem. And that's cost us in a couple of our losses, especially against teams where speed is involved. You know, like Florida. And Tech.

WELCOME, T.J.!

ESPNU reports that he chose us over Florida, Florida State, Alabama, and Auburn. Oh, and Virginia Tech. And West Virginia. And GO DAWGS!

Plus the fact that you have to allow for possible grade problems, injuries etc and the DE position is a good enough athlete to move to another position as well....ie., LB, TE, DT (if grows to much) etc.
