The Road to Omaha

Now that the regionals have been set, here is the Diamond Dawg's path to Omaha:

Tallahassee Regional:

FSU
Georiga
Marist
tOSU

Norman Regional:

Oklahoma
Arkansas
Washington State
Wichita State

The winner of the Tallahassee regional will travel to Norman, OK where they will face the winner of the Norman regional in a super regional. Norman gets to host this super regional regardless of who from the Norman regional advances, because Oklahoma snagged a national seed.

All we can do at this point is beat the team in front of us, but I really hope that if we advance Arkansas can pull it out in Norman. This would give us a super regional against a familiar opponent that we've dominated this season.

We face tOSU first, and their starter is supposedly an ace. However, I don't know how much stock you can put in Big 10 pitching stats considering that conference hasn't done jack in college baseball in the last 20 years or so.

The two wins in the SEC tournamnet and the win over Georgia Tech at Turner prove that these Dawgs still have some fight left in them. Now, will the real Diamond Dawgs please stand up?

I just got my tickets! Living in Tallahassee, Ill be there in my Red and Black all weekend!!!!

We need to get past tOSU and Marist. Florida State has been a wonderful opponent for us in the NCAA tourney, as we've completed some pretty exciting wins over the 'Noles to advance, either to a superregional or to the CWS itself. Whereas I think Georgia Tech once again got the easiest regional (Georgia State, Southern Miss and Elon? Come on! Elon's the only real challenge!), I like how ours shaped out. Just like UGAChemDawg, I hope Arkansas beats it out and wins the Norman Regional. Not that we can't beat WSU or WSU (I dunno about OU), but the scouting would sure be easier. First things first, though. Let's beat holy hell out of them Buckeyes! GO DAWGS!!!

PLEASE beat the hell outta them Buckeyes!!! Ill be there in full out Dawg gear kicking and screaming! Its gonna be a beautiful hot Fla weekend lots of sunshine and clear skies! Great weekend for some Bulldog baseball!!!!
