Georgia won its opening session at the NCAA Gymnastics meet today, continuing its streak of making the Super Six every year since its institution. Courtney Kupets won the all-around yet again, as she has done at every meet at which she has competed save the Auburn meet. She scored a 39.8, tying Kentucky's Jenny Hansen (in 1995) for the highest all-around score ever posted at NCAAs. As a team, Georgia scored 197.45, more than a full point higher than fellow SECers in the Super Six, Florida and LSU. En route, Georgia came back from its two-fall performance at SECs to post a 49.55 on beam, its highest score on the event all year.
What this means is that five in a row and ten overall for Coach Yoc is well within reach. Tomorrow at 7 pm for all the marbles. GO DAWGS!!!
