Vols get the broom! was created by watson
Our Diamong Dawgs went up to Knoxville and swept the Vols! Rich Poythress led the way going 6-10 with 4 HR and 10 RBI. We built leads in all three games before hanging on at the end for the victories. Let's get after Clemson Tuesday and Wednesday before LSU comes to Athens next weekend! Good job, guys!

Let's not forget that we had not had a winning series in Knoxville since 2001, when Ron Polk was our head coach. This is a big monkey off the back of Dave Perno. Now if he could only take a series against Alabama...

Oh well, no matter! Bring on the Purple Tigers, and then the Bayou Bengals! GO DAWGS!!!!

Also, the Dawgs are still #1 in the Collegiate Baseball, ESPN/USA Today and National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association polls, and #6 in Baseball America. I know that polls mean NOTHING at this point in the season (they really mean nothing until it's time to pick who gets the regionals and super-regionals), but #6? Really? Their #1 is Cal State Fullerton, a four-loss team who's dropped decisions to UC Riverside, Oklahoma State and two to Texas Christian. Granted, they have a better pedigree than we do, but still.

I will say that if we sweep Klimpson and take the weekend series against LS-Who? in Athens, BA might have no choice but to move us to #1.

BECAUSE WE'D BE FRICKIN' UNSTOPPABLE, THAT'S WHY!!!
