Forgotten QB ?

For what this is worth . . . . have not heard much about Logan Gray. This young dawg came to UGA not as a unknown QB in the nation, many wanted Logan.

Not trying to start any QB wars, know that Cox is the man and deserves to be so. Do feel however that we will be seeing Logan on the field this year in situations that require speed and option plays. That is not to say that he cannot throw the football, he can. He has 4.4 or 4.5 speed and that can cause a lot of problems with the other weapons that UGA has on the offensive side of the ball. Gut feeling is that Coach Bobo is going to have some work on the offensive side for Logan.

Career Highs: 2 carries vs. Georgia Southern in 2008
*21 rushing yards vs. Georgia Southern in 2008
*Long rush of 16 yards vs. Georgia Southern in 2008
*2 punt returns at No. 24 Arizona State
*Long punt return of 17 yards vs. No. 18 Georgia Tech

2008: Named the team’s Newcomer of the Year Award winner for special teams
*Appeared in 13 games
*Returned one punt for a career-best return of 17 yards vs. No. 18 Georgia Tech
*Recorded one punt returned for 13 yards at Auburn
*Returned one punt for 11 yards vs. Tennessee
*Recorded first two punt returns of career at No. 24 Arizona State
*Made Bulldog debut vs. Georgia Southern rushing for 21 yards on two carries

Mates, I really like the makeup of the upcoming year, a different type of team than the last year or so. That is not complaining, feel like there is a lot of talent that folks like me tend to overlook. Go Dawgs!

With so much hype last year about Stafford, I feel like Grey was not given as much of an opportunity even though I feel that they wanted to use him. Remember that Topic about a \"Special Package\" from last season? I definitely think we will see a whole slew of different looks from our DAWGS this upcoming season!!!! Can't wait for APRIL 11!!!!!:woohoo:

GeorgiaBoy1285, I do remember the \"special package\" talk. There is a lot of talent on this team, just do not see how we miss the first down markers this year. There is also going to be a lot of \"pressure\" on Coach Bobo too. Talent like this does not exist every year, and this team has in my opinion the best offensive line coach we have ever had to coach the troops. Coach Searels will make a difference on offense as will Coach Jancek on defense. I like some of the changes that Coach Richt has made. One for all . . . . All for one. Go Dawgs! :woohoo:

I think the lack of Logan Grey talk is by design. He's almost certainly going to be brought in in the same way Tebow was brought in in 2006, or the way we used D.J. 2002-04. And he's going to make us a more dynamic offense because of it. Opposing defenses knew what D.J. and Tebow were going to do when they came in the game, and they still couldn't stop that option. But I think we want to keep those packages secret so that opposing defenses still think we're a pro-style, drop-back offense with no tricks up its sleeve. Keep in mind that CMR is the senior coach in the SEC -- in terms of years at the same school now that Phattie and Tubby are gone and Rev. Nutt has changed schools. That means that the \"young, exciting\" option coaches think of him as an old fogey. All it means is that he's more battle-tested and more of an adaptable coach than were Fullmer and Tommy, and we've all seen him pull tricks out of his hat without changing facial expressions.

I feel FAR better about this season than I did about last season. No arrests, no injuries at this point, TREMENDOUS talent coming in and TREMENDOUS talent coming back. A true leader at QB. I don't know, folks. You think these boys remember what the inside of the Georgia Dome looks like???

AGAIN, we WILL win the SEC and contend for the NC, especially if we can get by the 1st part of the season undefeated. BTW, we'll be even better in 2010...:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
