Well, the two blowout losses to Alabama didn't hurt us too badly. We're still ranked 3rd in two polls and fourth in another, which is actually an improvement on one front, given that last week we were #1 in two polls and #8 in another.

I firmly believe that in baseball, you need losses. You have to understand how to lose in order to win, because the game is predicated not upon winning every game, but upon winning series and overcoming your weaknesses. We learned our weaknesses this weekend. Time to freshen up against Georgia State on Wednesday and then go back home to play the always-tough Impostor Bulldogs this weekend.

No doubt, dapolla! Hit the nail on the head. Especially with the high number of young guys on the team. When you start the season like they did, it's sometimes good to get knocked around a little early, maybe get thumped a couple of times to get your head back on straight. These guys are very talented, but there is no room for complacency and losses help get rid of that.

No, watson, I actually never got beyond the tee-ball phase. I learned my limitations pretty early and stuck to swimming -- one year as a pretty good offensive lineman, until everyone ELSE hit puberty and dwarfed me! When you strike out in tee-ball, you learn to just sit back, watch, study and enjoy the game!
