Our Recruiting Class

Well, the ESPN Insider has just named Georgia the top overall recruiting class based on people who had reported to campus by the end of February. I'm fairly sure that doesn't take Orson Charles into account. So much for flying under the radar, especially come 2010.

Oh well. BRING 'EM ON!!!!

I don't know how meaningful that is, but certainly it is not bad news. There appears to be no doubt that we did have an outstanding recruiting class for 2009. Ultimately, it looks like our class will be ranked about #4 to #6. I have always said that you want your TEAM ranked in the top 5 coming into the last few games of the season. Not being in the top 5 gives you little chance for a shot at the MNC/BCS. I am thrilled and desirous to capture the SEC. That is the big goal for us before thinking about MNC. And the big goal before that is the SEC East, and the road to the SEC-E goes through Jacksonville, FL just 30 miles from my door!
It looks like we have filled in most of the puzzle pieces for this fall. The final picture should look lovely; if JC and CK play effectively and the other pieces live up to their potential, the dawgs could be doing some mean thumping come fall!

I agree! This class is solid... but we still have a question mark at DE. Defensive pressure starts at the DE spot which lead to our under performing defense. I am confident in our coaches that our boys will be ready to take back the SEC East! Go DAWGS!!

Refresh me guys but believe we had a couple of young DE's that were either redshirted or injured that we will have back this year. That should make prozack07 feel a little better.

I am looking for our veterans to step up. To be honest, I dont know how effect an 18 or 19 year old kid could be at DE in the SEC.

They can be effective. Pollock, remember that guy. It all depends on the tenacity of the player. I hope the entire defense gets some this year. After the may-lay of last year, they need it. I think they will get it!!
