Jon Richt

It looks like Jon Richt is no longer a Tiger. According to the AJC, Jon has decided that, since he will likely be the third-stringer even with Cullen Harper graduating, it would be best to transfer to a smaller school to continue his football career and education.

I think I join the rest of Bulldog (and hopefully, Tiger) Nation in wishing Jon Richt the best of luck in his future endeavors. With a Dad (and, especially, a Mom) like he's got, I'm sure he's got a pretty good head on his shoulders regarding school and priorities.

Jon, if you read this, let me ask you as a Winthrop man: if you're planning on staying in the area, PLEASE don't transfer to Coastal Carolina. Those jerks don't need help!!!

Seriously, though, where do you see JR going? Valdosta and Appalachian both run serious options, and I don't think running is Jon's strong suit. Maybe \"little brother\" Georgia Southern? Furman? Northern Alabama? What are your thoughts on where our favorite ex-Clemsonite should go?

dapolla, this brings back thoughts of Papa Richt. Talented athlete, just seemed to have the misfortune of having Hall of Famers and such being on the same team. I wish Jon only good things as he continues to play football. First thing, get that education and plan for life after football.

I would like to see him go to Furman. It's a good school. Nice campus. Good structured beliefs. A team with past glory. Close to home, and it's not in a bad city.

Furman would be a great fit for him, I think. And that's a team that's in SoCon and National Title contention most years. I think he could go from being a purple Tiger to a Purple Paladin, what do you guys think?

There is always App State, which has been impressive in the last few years. I know they have ruled the SoCon for a while. I saw them when they played The Citadel and they made us look like children with no clue.

Wish he would go to Ga. Southern myself.
