We've done a lot on here to prepare for next year. Some of us, myself included, have made comments impugning Matthew Stafford's leadership ability. Many of us have bemoaned Knowshon Moreno's leaving early for the NFL draft, wishing he'd give us more than just two years.
Well, I DVRed the Capital One Bowl, and I've been watching it in bits and spurts as I get dressed in the morning, as I get ready to go out to meetings (I work from home), as I eat my lunch. It's taken me a few weeks, but I finally got to the end today. I saw the last score that Matthew Stafford would ever give us, though we didn't officially know that at the time.
It was a 25-yard touchdown pass on third-and-ten, the culmination of an answering drive, something Stafford was exceedingly good at. It set the all-time Georgia record for touchdowns in a season, at 25. It was a seemingly effortless, picture-perfect on-target lob of a missile of a pass to the front corner of the end zone. And, fittingly enough, Stafford connected with Knowshon Moreno to put the Dawgs up 23-12.
Thanks, guys.
