This is just an article the AJC had with JC. He seems excited about the oppurtunity to be a leader on the Dawgs. Now to my question. Does anyone feel that MS took his UGA qb job seriously. Sure he had all the talent in the world and will probably make a great pro qb. But he never really acted like he cared at UGA. He never stepped into the leadership role. Since he was in high school the NFL has been scouting him, and it felt like to me that he wanted to be in the NFL and UGA was just a time waste. I may be way off but what do you guys think. And take it easy on me.

I think his personality is pretty \"laid back\" so he may just appear that way. I saw him get pretty \"jacked and pumped up\" many times during the seasons. NOW.....that being said, I have ALWAYS felt that MS would be a MUCH better pro QB than a college QB. His arm strength has always been at the next level and the WR's up there can run better routes and actually catch his \"lasers\"....plus he can put the ball in the small creases that is required in the pros. He has been groomed for the pros and the 3 years at UGA just helped in his grooming.

gs, think that UGA team wise had a year of \"not knowing\". Leadership is as important to winning games as having all of the talent in the world but not knowing what to do with it. Football plan is no different than planning for war on the battlefield. It is nothing more than controlled war. Lift all the weights you want, run those sprints, Oklahoma Drills, whatever, it means nothing without a leader. I feel that the problem, and it has been mentioned before . . . the Seniors did not step up. Also, don't think that leadership is a trait that is necessarily learned by some, for some it is simply a gift.

As far as wasted time on Stafford's part, don't think so at all. The time that he spent at UGA in the pro sets is one of the main reasons that he could be the first person or QB taken in this draft.

Not to light a fuse, however, if he had operated in an offense such as the one that Meyer has incorporated at Florida, promise you he would not now be mentioned as a potential #1 pick.

Did MS think about the \"League\" when he was in high school? Would be crazy not to have thought about pro ball with the God given gifts that he has. Also, MS could have had his choice as to where he wanted to attend college. Why Georgia? Because Georgia has been known for putting QB's in the NFL, not only tight ends. Mark Richt was in the NFL, not a lot to hang his hat on, but being in the NFL, you learn things that give your recruits a decided advantage when the time comes. Much more could be said. GO DAWGS!

Your right Buc. He could not have operated as well in th UF offense. Not because of lack of talent, he has more talent then Tebow hands down. But I do think that if Stafford would have been more of a leader they could have done much more. MS has twice the pure ability then Greene had, but Greene was a leader and has an SEC championship on his resume. I feel that leadership skills in the close games is something that MS would have benefited from in a senior season.

gs, think that Tebow and Stafford are different types of QB's. Watched Tebow at Nease in high school. He is perfect for Meyer's game, however it will not benefit him at the next level as a QB.

UF had a serious problem this past year, and Tebow's leadership showed after the Ole Miss game. Have stated before, leadership means as much as talent, not a doubt in my mind. It is always easy to nit-pick when the game has been played, little tougher before the coin is flipped.

It will be interesting watching John Brantley after Tebow's graduation. He is not another Tebow running with the football, but a top notch pro-type out of Ocala. If I am a receiver looking to the NFL, at this point, would rather operate out of the pro-set. Will see how UF adapts to this, knowing that UM has been in \"his\" system going back to Utah and maybe before. Think that is one of the reasons that O. Charles went in another direction. OC is more than a tight end, this dude could flank or play wideout for me anyday.

There is no argument that Tebow will not be a pro QB. Doesnt read the defenses well enough. Satfford will probably be the best pro QB that UGA has produced thus far. Brantley will be interesting to watch. UM will have to tweak the offense to fit him. I think he is a good enough coach to make the adjustments, but losing the leadership of Tebow will be a major problem. Tebow on the offense and Spikes on the defense controlling the game is powerful. Almost as good as the Greene/Pollack combo UGA had. But I'm sure that Florida will regroup, just like the Dawgs did in '05 with Shockley, maybe they wont win the SEC, but they should have a good year. I hate just having to speculate right now. I wish it was Friday Sep. 4 and we had football season starting tomorrow. Sinful wishes.
