Good Old Fashioned Hate!!!!

OMG, that phantom fumble in 1999 was just about the worst call I ever saw in this series. It beat out the one the year before, when Hamilton fumbled, but was ruled down.

blown call even worse was the fact that tech player who recovered the "so called" fumble, promptly ran into and out of the endzone! So, if it was really a fumble, then it should have resulted in a safety and we win. We got double pumped on that a la Al Ford!!!!

To this day I've yet to see a worse example of refing....that was a total disgrace but certainly not the only example of Ford's myopic leadership.

Ironically, it would have never happened if they had instant replay back then.

That was a hot topic of discussion both here and several of the other sites I frequent. FWIW I am very glad that it was instituted, it was LONG overdue!!!

Joe Hamilton was quoted in todays AJC about that 1999 phantom fumble. He sed if there had been instatt replay back then, the game would have had a different outcome. Even Hamilton, albeit years later, admitted that the fumble call was bogus.

That's because he's not playing anymore.
