Kwame Geathers Decision Date

Kwame Geathers Decision Date was created by GooseDawg78
Anybody heard when BIG Kwame \"don't call me Jumpy\" Geathers is gonna announce? It's down to UGA or the Univ. of Central Florida. We're recruiting him to play on the D-line though many schools were offering him a scholarship to play on the O-line. I think he could make an immediate impact in the trenches for our maligned defense. I mean, at 6'5\", 320 lbs., it's NOT like he needs to get on the biscuits and gravy diet to pack on the pounds in order handle SEC size blockers. If anybody's got any info on Kwame, I'd really appreciate it...Thanks!

Goosedawg, I read on article on the 6th from scout.com that said he would decide in the next week, so if that was accurate, he should decide by Friday. Guess we'll see in a couple of days.

The SMART era CONTINUES!!!!!!

Goose, don't know if you got the chance to see the high school game played between South Carolina and North Carolina. I picked it up on ESPNU, and will definitely say this . . . . Geathers caused a lot of problems, he could not be moved.

I live 50 miles from Orlando, my daughter graduated UCF. The program there has been up and down, but they recruit a lot in Atlanta and the surrounding area. Their head coach was the head coach at GT some years back. I hope he wears the Red and Black also.

A hypothetical:

Suppose UGA had its choice of one of these two players: Either Geathers or Orson Charles. (Of course we don't have this choice; but if we did) Who would we prefer at this point, now, today.

I am far from an expert, but it seems to me that Geathers would do us more good than Charles. Eventhough OC is highly rated, we already have a couple of good TE's and Arthur Lynch coming in. Also, OC is only 6-3 and 225; no shrimp, but certainly not big for the position. With the kind of size Geathers has, it would seem to me that he could potentially become another \"Mount Cody.\"

DawgSpeare, interesting. . . . .

A little background on OC. He is what some folks refer to as an \"athlete\" when the recruiting wars are at full tilt. He played flanker, tight end and was very dominant on defense. Without OC, will say this from a personal standpoint. Plant High and Murray probably would not have won the state championship without OC. He is a football player. Injuries happen a lot as we know from last season, never ever hurts to have those \"athletes\" . . . thinking of Hines Ward in particular.

Geathers would be a plus no doubt after watching him play in the South Carolina/North Carolina High School football game. Reminds me a bit of AJ Harmon and the talk about what position they want to play. Geathers wants to be on the defensive side of the ball, most recruiting him wanted him on the offensive side of the ball, same situation we had with AJ.

Understanding that the defense had some problems last year, think that could be fixed with a little more \"coaching\". Guess I would have to go with OC. Good question, made me think.
