Wait a second, folks. We've had trouble defending the spread exactly three times that I can remember. Against Troy (we won 44-34), against Florida this year but NOT last year or the year before, and against Tech, but only in the second half, after two defensive starters (Evans and Gamble) had sustained season-ending injuries. Don't say we can't defend the spread just yet, as we've handled a lot of spreads easily in the past.
The way I see it, Auburn has hired another troubled, gimmick-oriented OC a la Tony Franklin. Let's not forget that Malzahn's offense struggled against real teams like LSU and Florida when he was at Arkansas, and that he has only proven himself in high school and at Tulsa, where he failed to win the C-USA title. Don't panic just yet, folks. Georgia is still a good team when we're not completely crippled up and caught off-guard. True, we need to rush the passer more, but beyond that, you guys are talking like we're Mississippi State or something. Chill out. We're 9-3. Get geared up for the bowl.
